Recently got the gold edition of the EWQLSO library and was wondering how I can use this with ableton (I use version 9)? I'm not too experienced with putting big midi instrument packs into software like this.


Downloaded EWQL symphonic choir gold could not get Wordbuilder to play/record. Checked choir sample files - only 8.6GB, [should be about 40]. My download clearly failed. Upgraded to platinum but library failed to download via the downloader. Raised tickets with EW but cannot contact EW. I have obviously screwed this up, any ideas?

This track is from around 2008, back when VST plugins were still rather revolutionary, and changing the entire game for us all. They still do, on a regular basis, but we take them for granted now. I stumbled across a relatively new plug-in (at the time) named EWQLSO (East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra), made by Native Instruments. It is long superseded now, but this track still proudly owns its own uniqueness. I didn’t want to keep it an identical cover, so I modified some of the strings in the third verse and turned the single notes into fifths, giving the sound briefly more depth. The harps and flutes in this piece are simply beautiful, IMHO. A very smooth rendition.

The Red Cape is an imaginary filmscore to a Superman movie. I improvised it as is here on my Korg Krome in 2016, transported into FL Studio and arranged it with East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra GOLD in a very basic way, just for myself. Now I publish it just some days before I start to (re)write and (re)arrnage the whole piece decently.
