Cette nouvelle publication propose une synthèse inédite sur les arts africains, du classique au contemporain. Il explore les formes historiques, les objets rituels et les créations modernes à travers une approche pluridisciplinaire. L’ouvrage met en valeur la richesse et la diversité des expressions artistiques du continent, tout en questionnant les récits dominants de l’histoire de l’art.

"Cet ouvrage a pour ambition de proposer une synthèse renouvelée sur les arts africains. L' équipe pluridisciplinaire et internationale, ouvre une réflexion d'ampleur sur le pouvoir créatif du continent africain, hier et aujourd'hui La première partie permet de redonner à l'Afrique la place qu'elle mérite dans l'histoire mondiale. La deuxième section du livre est consacrée aux formes d'arts africains dits historiques, traditionnels ou classiques, c'est-à-dire aux objets généralement collectés et exposés dans les collections publiques et privées occidentales. Enfin, la troisième et dernière partie met en valeur la contemporanéité des formes africaines. Outre ces trois grandes sections, l'ouvrage propose des focus, études concises sur des productions régionales marquantes (l'Éthiopie chrétienne, les arts royaux danhoméen et ashanti, etc.) ou sur des matérialités spécifiques (la terre cuite, la photographie, les perles, etc.). </p><p>Une abondante iconographie (plus de 560 illustrations) – mêlant typologies d'objets (archéologie, formes classiques et inventions contemporaines) ainsi que différents médiums (sculptures, céramiques, textiles...) – permet de donner un panorama aussi complet que possible. Cette somme met ainsi en avant non seulement des chefs-d'œuvre, mais aussi des objets plus confidentiels, issus de divers musées (africains, européens ou encore américains) et des collections privées du monde entier. Conjuguant recherches scientifiques, approche historique et une vision moderne, ce livre sans précédent est amené à devenir une référence incontournable dans le domaine.

Bio 
Starting his journey in electronic music three years ago in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, DAANN quickly built a career marked by dedication and a unique style. His progressive and organic sound caught the attention of the regional scene, especially in western Santa Catarina. With captivating sets and a natural ability to warm up the dancefloor, he soon became a highly sought-after presence, particularly during the early hours of the night. He achieved important milestones, performing multiple times at renowned venues such as Amazon Club, Lake Club, and Mescla Social Club, as well as releasing music on respected labels like MusicArts and Time to Dance. In 2022, he also performed at the Réveillon da Praia Mole in Florianópolis.

Throughout his journey, DAANN has shared the stage with major names in electronic music, including Guy J, ZAC, Ratier, Eli Iwasa, Bhaskar, Dilby, Roland Leesker, Silver Panda, Meca, Melanie Ribbie, and Victor Lou. Recently, he received support from artists like Hernan Cattaneo, who featured him in his Resident #710, and ZAC, who invited him for a night at Warung Beach Club alongside the legendary Sasha and John Digweed. Additionally, DAANN was invited to collaborate with the Encyclopedia collective from France for a monthly podcast.

With a versatile musical approach and sensitivity to the nuances of each moment, DAANN creates immersive atmospheres that deeply connect with the audience. His natural charisma and genuine energy during performances make every show unique. In 2025, DAANN will release his first tracks, including an EP on the Belgian label AH Digital and also with For Senses Records from Brazil.

Encyclopedia was founded in 2021. Since its creation, the artistic direction has been driven by the design and creation of visual and musical supports. Encyclopedia's activity is mainly focused on the promotion and distribution of DJ artists in the world of progressive house Organic House & Progressive. In three years, more than 250 artists have emerged, totaling more than 600 mixes around the world (England, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Israel, Turkey, etc.) and great artists of Progressive House and Progressive.

Encyclopedia also deploys a wide range of artistic interventions, which aim to share the different facets and singularities of our concept. Initially, the ARAWAK project is part of this dynamic and made it possible to set up the first electronic digital festival, in collaboration with Bianco Vargas dj living in Brazil, with whom we had been working since the first season. ARAWAK is a very innovative concept, and counts among its DJs: Bianco Vargas, Marttinez, ZANELL, Carmee, Kaito Aman, Fabiano Feijô, Glamour's Joint, Luciano Scheffer, Marcelo Strega, Carlos Tk, Patrick Medina, Bohnen, Lenharo, Sebastian Portman & Rgn.
In the following seasons were guests (Korb, Grife, Isadora, Leozinho, Long Brothers, Caio Endi, Leila Scheiwe, Halaros, Tonaco, Murilo Damasio, Carla Cimino, Kotsi & Anhert, SARAH CHILANTI). Encyclopedia does everything possible to ensure that ARAWAK has incredible visuals and great promotion broadcast on all streaming platforms such as Spotify, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & Youtube.

Encyclopedia as a broadcaster has put together other playlists like Voyager, Mesopotamia, Destination and Monophony that you can discover on streaming platforms. After 3 years of development in Montpellier in France, Encyclopedia is in full evolution and created with Aglaia Rave a solid and professional collaboration on the creation & cooperation of the Encyclopedia Edition radio.

Aglaia Rave & Leo Baroso have been working closely on the EDITION podcast for more than 2 years. Her knowledge and professionalism make Aglaia Rave a major element in the evolution of Encyclopedia and the various projects to come.
