“Always on the Outside” is a hopeful indie rock track from NYC artist Merry Andrew, his first self-mixed and mastered single after earning a master’s degree from Berklee NYC. Blending acoustic guitar and intimate vocals with a hip-hop beat, it tells a story of isolation and the search for connection. The track takes inspiration from the Four of Cups tarot card, reflected in both artwork and a hybrid live action/2D animated video.

The Siege

After a day that nearly broke me, I ended up recording a 2-minute solo. How? With my mouth, of course. I sat on the floor and just started mumbling, no plan, no structure, just breath and instinct. That melody haunted me for years. I tried playing it on instruments, begged for help, cried out to the void, tried everything. Nothing ever felt right. And one day I just snapped, said fuck it, and played the damn guitars with my mouth. And you know what? That version… became my favorite

Merry Andrew is the moniker for multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer Andrew Nathan Hall. Currently based in New York City, Andrew is pursuing a master’s degree at Berklee NYC, where he continues to hone his brand of minimalist indie art rock.

After graduating with a BA in Music from the University of Utah, Andrew wrote and recorded early demos of what eventually became his debut, The Fool EP. He enlisted the legendary indie rock producer Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Frightened Rabbit, Death Cab for Cutie) to mix the record and assist in pre-production. 

The Fool EP was recorded at June Audio in Provo, Utah with engineer Scott Wiley (The Killers, Post Malone, The Moth and the Flame) and features horns player CJ Camerieri, aka CARM (Bon Iver, Paul Simon, Taylor Swift). The Fool EP was mastered at Sterling Sound by renowned mastering duo Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone (John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon).

I decided also to upload some remakes of very old demo songs out of my time as a sound designer for the SY-77... might be used for video & games :-)

Experimental, Oriental, Electronic Tunes. I try to catch tunes that tickle the soul. When I find it, I turn it into music with experimental methods. Sometimes my songs are like soundtracks. Because each of them has a story.

Tribe of Hofund is a medieval/folk inspired electronic duo that consists of Gothi (synthesizers, electronic percussion) and Peter Siegmund Wildling (guitars) from Denmark. We find inspiration in the voices of our ancestors in form of nordic mythology and religion. We make use of acoustic guitar, synthesizers and samplers. We try to combine our training and interests in classical and mundane music of the past with the electronic sound of present and future.
