Actual instruments and objects, recorded through various pickups (no microphones) and using only the most basic effects.

Freedom Cities

Mackward Basking was created by playing 3 different sounds and instruments, voices backwards.  It was then manipulated and effected via a sound mixer.  This was an experiment as it will be an experiment to your ears.

Chamber and solo work performed by Esprit Orchestra, Eve Egoyan, Arraymusic, Quatuor Bozzini, Madawaska String Quartet. Electronic work commissioned by AKOUSMA Festival, appeared at the MoMA with installation piece Tentacle. Work also programmed at the Technische Universitat (Berlin), Sonic Arts Research Centre (Belfast), Musicacoustica Festival (Beijing), Soundplay Festival (Toronto). Harvestworks Festival (NYC)

Recipient of the Canadian Music Centre's 2011 Toronto Emerging Composer Award & Canadian Electroacoustic Community's Jeux De Temps Competition (2008). Awarded Canadian Music Centre's Norman Burgess Fund to create a work for solo harp for young performers with educational guidance from Lori Gemmell.

Sarah Wallin Huff has enjoyed her work as a composer for concert halls and soundtracks since 1993. Her original compositions have been performed throughout the States and abroad, including the Exeter Phoenix Auditorium in Devon, England; the Mosman Art Gallery in Sydney, Australia; the Zipper Hall in Los Angeles; and the National Opera Center in New York City. As a violinist, violist, and 6-string electric violinist, she has extensive experience playing with diverse ensembles, as well as performing on various recording projects, large and small.
