The idea behind Designer Thumbs' music is to create stories for every track to leave a memorable impression on the listener like a good book or film. The style sits somewhere between film  soundtrack and down beat electronica.
The sounds typically used are a mix of synthetic and real instruments, filtered synth pads, busy, glitchy rhythm programming, big hip hop breaks, vocal acapellas, old film samples, sound fx , bass guitar –anything that creates the right feel.
Influences have come from Warp Records’ ambient artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, Jon Hopkins & Radioactive Man and 80s electronic film sound tracks such as The Thing, The Fog, Clockwork Orange, Bladerunner, Tron etc.
