For our 324th release we have a mesmerising peak time techno single by italian artist Clif Jack, which also includes a collaborative remix by Elio Riso & Hernan Paredes. Ark in the Dark is the original track on the release, and after a suspense-building intro, it introduces a pounding kick drum that quickly subsides for an early breakdown that introduces the haunting tones of the vocal. The main groove has bursting synth stabs, thrashing hi-hats, and weighty percussion underpinned by a rumbling bassline. Ark in the Dark unfolds with building intensity, and there is also a dub version for those who prefer their techno without vocals. Elio Riso & Hernan Paredes remix adds toughened percussion. It chops the vocals into atmospheric phrases that get teased before introducing the full vocal in the breakdown section. They also add their own lead synth in the final third of their remix, intensifying their hard-hitting versions groove. Speaking about this release, Clif Jack said: I wrote this song during the lockdown, a time filled with uncertainty and darkness. The idea of building my ark serves as a mental symbol, a way to protect myself from the negativity surrounding me. The ark represents an inner refuge I created through music and connecting with my mind, allowing me to navigate that difficult period. The lyrics recall the times when people could dance together, moments of unity and release where there were no negative thoughts, only shared passion. This song is dedicated to all the artists and creatives who, like me, faced challenges during that time. Its a message of hope, an invitation to find strength in the community and nightlife,which is a world that has always brought us together and pushed us forward with its energy. Being a techno track, its meant for the club, designed to be an emotional and collective experience that speaks to those who live for music and the night as a source of passion and connection.
