Music is the object of my hyper-focusing ways! 😂 I'm primarily a guitarist, although I've really taken to the piano in the last five years or so. The two reinforce each other in positive ways, I've found. But I digress. 
Most of the songs here I've written for a personal  soundtracking-type project. I have a collection of old family 8mm films from the 1950s through the 1970s, which were preserved (thankfully) and digitized. Thing is, they had no audio. So, a year and a half later, 75+ videos into the project, and about, I'd say, 12 more videos to soundtrack? Generational contribution: complete! 🤘🏼🎸
It's really been a cool experience trying to capture different moods for different videos. It was also special to spend so much time with film of a group of people who had such a profound impact on who I have become - but seeing them here "pre-me". Seeing my grandparents dance together and go about their daily lives on film, being younger than I am now. Generations of leaves... 
I love almost all types of music. Recently, I've been listening to Curtis Mayfield, Paco de Lucía, Michael Hedges, Yes, Deftones, The Mercury Program, Ólafur Arnalds, September Malevolence.

Growing up, STETRA (Steph) was drawn to creating art in all of its mediums. Heavily influenced by her first generation Vietnamese family's love for all music spanning from Vietnamese cai luong, New Wave, Disco Funk, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop and House - she was inspired to explore the art of creating emotions with sound. 

STETRA’s love for dancing and fusion of musical genres is ever present in her groove forward eclectic sets she's recognized for. Her "ENMOTION // Daybreak and Nocturnal” series takes the listener on a genre fluid journey of Lo Fi, Afro, Funk, and Soul to threading the different sub genres of House, Disco, Deep Tech, Techno. Soulful vocals overlaid on swinging, seductive bass lines with an emphasis on vibe and setting have a heavy influence on STETRA’s mixing style that has caught the attention of music aficionados and artists alike. With her inaugural track release on Little Festival Records with Faucon for the Ikinasai EP, STETRA looks forward to continue pushing her artistry.

In April of 2017, STETRA joined the founding partners of a local Dallas collective (LOLO) to break ground on new talent and curate House and Techno shows throughout the Texas region until the collective came to a close in November of 2018. Post LOLO in late 2018, Technorotica was launched. 

Technorotica was founded on a common love of exploring the deep, provocative side of art, music, and freedom of self-expression in unique and intimate settings. Intentionally placing artistry, creativity, community, and inclusivity at its heart, Technorotica’s goal is to help grow and evolve underground dance music culture in Dallas. The collective emphasizes a groove-forward sound dipping into all shades of the four on the floor, enticing  listeners with seductive grooves that may not be familiar but draws them in.
