Originally a project in grad school, the intention was to develop more empathetic listening for one another by first cultivating that within ourselves, for our higher good. Performers start with a 5 minute silent meditation and are encouraged to 'welcome all thought'. The goal of this was to hold all thought in loving  awareness; that, there is no 'good' and 'bad', 'positive' or 'negative'... there just is.

Then at 5:19, performers were instructed to transfer those thoughts, feelings, and other sensations into free sound WITHOUT listening to each other. Then to gradually listen more and more to others. This led to a loving awareness and acceptance of what each other performer said and felt through their instruments. 

The third and final bell (17:19) signaled a loving retreat back to the self. Performers were asked to once again observe without judgement: was there a change in state? What came up for you? Were there any patterns in thought/feeling that you noticed?

Those gritty reels are being dragged into the digital age, cleaned up (but not too much), and unleashed for his legion of fans—diehards who’d kill for one last riff from the man who once said, “Music’s my bitch, and I ride her hard.” Piece by piece, the world’s getting a front-row seat to Thrustwell’s unfiltered soul, a catalog of sound that proves he was more than a legend—he was a goddamn force of nature, now howling from the grave.
