La vida y los logros de Ertugrul


Sus primeros años y antecedentes familiares


Ertugrul nació alrededor del año 1191, según algunas fuentes, o 1198, según otras. Era el tercer hijo de Suleyman Shah, el líder de la tribu Kayi, una de las muchas tribus turcas Oghuz que se originaron en Asia Central. Su madre era Hayme Hatun, una mujer noble de la tribu Dodurga. Creció en un estilo de vida nómada, aprendiendo a montar a caballo, cazar y luchar. También aprendió sobre su religión, el Islam y su cultura, que fue influenciada por las tradiciones turcas, persas y árabes. Era leal a su familia y tribu, y respetaba a sus ancianos y líderes. También era curioso y aventurero, y soñaba con explorar nuevas tierras y hacerse un nombre.

Ertugrul Ghazi: El padre del imperio otomano

 
Ertugrul Ghazi fue un guerrero turco del siglo XIII que es ampliamente considerado como el fundador del Imperio otomano, uno de los imperios más grandes y duraderos de la historia. Fue el líder de la tribu Kayi de los turcos Oghuz, que emigraron de Asia Central a Anatolia para escapar de las invasiones mongolas. Luchó valientemente contra los enemigos del Islam y estableció un principado en Sogut, una ciudad en la frontera con el Imperio bizantino. También fue el padre de Osman I, quien lo sucedió como el bey (jefe) de los Kayis y expandió sus dominios en un vasto imperio que abarcaba tres continentes. 

 
Vida temprana

 
Poco se sabe con certeza sobre la vida de Ertugrul, ya que la mayoría de las fuentes sobre él fueron escritas por historiadores otomanos posteriores que pueden haber adornado o distorsionado algunos hechos. Según la tradición otomana, nació en 1198 en Ahlat, una ciudad al este de Anatolia. Era el hijo de Suleyman Shah, el líder de la tribu Kayi, una de las 24 tribus de los turcos Oghuz.  Algunas fuentes, sin embargo, sugieren que pudo haber sido el hijo de Gunduz Alp, otro jefe Kayi. 

 
Ertugrul creció en una época turbulenta, ya que el sultanato selyúcida de Rum, que gobernó la mayor parte de Anatolia, se enfrentaba a amenazas de varios enemigos, como los cruzados de Europa, los bizantinos de Constantinopla y los mongoles de Asia. La tribu kayi, junto con otras tribus oghuz, eran aliados leales de los selyúcidas y a menudo luchaban en su nombre. Ertugrul demostró ser un guerrero valiente y hábil desde una edad temprana, ganándose el respeto y la admiración de su pueblo.

Ertugrul enfrentó muchos desafíos y enemigos durante su reinado como bey. Tuvo que defender sus tierras de las frecuentes incursiones de los cruzados y bizantinos. También tuvo que lidiar con tribus turcas rivales que envidiaban su éxito y poder. Formó alianzas con otros estados y líderes musulmanes, como el sultán Kaykhusraw II de Rum, el emir Sadettin Kopek de Dulkadir y el jeque Edebali de Bilecik. También apoyó a Ibn Arabi, un famoso místico y erudito sufí que visitó Sogut varias veces. 

 
Uno de los enemigos más formidables de Ertugrul era el Imperio mongol, que había conquistado la mayor parte de Asia y avanzaba hacia Anatolia. Ertugrul resistió su invasión y luchó contra ellos en varias batallas. También ayudó a otras tribus turcas que fueron oprimidas por los mongoles. Se dice que salvó a Osman Gazi (Osman I), su hijo menor que nació alrededor de 1258 , de ser capturado por soldados mongoles cuando era niño. 

 
Legado

 
Ertugrul 
Ertugrul murió en 1281, a la edad de 83 años, y fue enterrado en Sogut. Fue sucedido por su hijo Osman I, quien continuó el legado de su padre y expandió el principado de Kayi al Imperio otomano. El imperio duró más de seis siglos y alcanzó su apogeo de poder y gloria bajo Solimán el Magnífico en el siglo XVI. El imperio se derrumbó después de la Primera Guerra Mundial y fue reemplazado por la moderna República de Turquía en 1923. 

 
Ertugrul es ampliamente venerado como un héroe y un símbolo de coraje, justicia y fe por los turcos y musulmanes de todo el mundo. También es un sujeto popular del arte, la literatura y los medios de comunicación. Su vida y sus logros han sido representados en varios libros, poemas, obras de teatro y películas. Una de las adaptaciones más famosas y exitosas es la serie de drama histórico turco Dirilis: Ertugrul (Resurrección: Ertugrul), que ha sido vista por millones de espectadores en Turquía y en el extranjero.
