Lord of the Harvest

When it comes to evangelism, a surprising number of Christians find themselves fearful, lethargic, confused, and out of their depth. We can find it hard to make clear connections to the Gospel, or to see the light of Christian truth in relation to the everyday interests of strangers and neighbours alike. 

Is this due primarily to a lack of conversational wisdom or a lack of spiritual boldness? Andy and Aaron both spoke on the different sides of this "coin" at the 2025 Cedarwood Festival. They reflect here that what may appear to be opposing perspectives can actually be complementary, challenging us to overcome cowardice whilst making the best use of our witness, ever mindful of what God can do even in the midst of our most feeble efforts.

25 07 13 - Why youth ministry matters

Ever show up to liturgy feeling defeated before you even begin? Fr. Mark’s homily on Luke 10 puts that lie to rest. Jesus hasn’t asked you to earn authority—He’s already granted it. In this message Fr. Mark unpacks verse 19 (“I give you authority…”) and shows how to:
Trade striving for receiving. Authority is bestowed, not achieved—learn the posture that unlocks it.
Aim it at the right target. You’re equipped to trample serpents and scorpions, not people.
Break the devil’s “you’re cursed” scam. Communion + repentance = unbreakable covering (Luke 10:19b, “Nothing shall by any means hurt you”).
Walk with a storm-proof heart. Hurt may come, but cannot destroy the believer anchored in the victorious Christ (Psalm 23 & St. Cyril of Jerusalem).
Fr. Mark weaves in Zechariah 4:6, 1 Samuel 10, and fiery quotes from St. Anthony and St. Jerome to demolish defeatist thinking and send you home with a new heart and a warrior’s mindset.

Walking in Christ's Authority

What happens when a church forgets its mission? When comfort replaces compassion?  On the Feast of the Apostles, we remember what the Church was always meant to be—a life-saving station, not a social club. In this powerful sermon, Fr. Elijah shares the gripping parable of a small hut on a stormy coast, built to rescue the drowning. Over time, the mission faded. The Church risks the same fate when we forget why we were sent.
Are we still the body of Christ? Are we still aboard the ship He built to save souls? Then we must live it—by launching the boat, by ministering to the shipwrecked, and by making every liturgy, every home, every conversation a divine rescue.
This isn’t just a talk. It’s a call to recover the mission of the Apostles.
