I made this song the same evening I got home from a trip down the South Island and around Nelson and Christchurch. After arriving back in Wellington on an Interislander ferry, I ended up having the single worst sleep I have had this entire decade. It was in a part of a motel which was evidently previously some sort of lodge for the owners or something, as it was completely separate from the other rooms. There was a bright light directly outside the lounge where I was sleeping and trashy blinds above my bed which quite literally tricked my brain into thinking it was the morning when it was literally 3AM. Furthermore, the motel was right across the street from a hospital, and we could hear helicopters all throughout the night. I ended up having to go sleep in the hallway instead and overall I definitely did not get more than half an hour of sleep. However, despite this, I literally have trouble going to sleep in bed already so of course I didn't fall asleep during the day. Once home, I got on the all-in-one computer I have from school (my laptop broke on the way to Christchurch and I had been completely music making deprived since then) and started making the HL2 distorted trumpets remix I had thought of the night before. That didn't end up working out. However, somehow this did. I actually can't remember much about how I started making this track but I do remember, because I didn't need good sound quality I just ad-libbed some lyrics into my headphone mic. Also, I somehow finished the bulk of the song including the mixing in just that night, adding the second half the next day.

This is going to be the opening track for my upcoming album. I don't know if or when I'm going to finish the album and I find it kinda funny that the only finished track from this album I've made was, including the lyrics, completed in the span of about 24 hours, while I have other stuff that hasn't been finished in half a year. Although it makes sense for some of them, considering I'm pretty harsh and picky on my own voice and I take ages to write lyrics only for them to make no sense.
