this week's mix is from Dutch dj and dance teacher, Debbie Huisman. she started as a dancer and teacher, merging music with movement in creative ways. her mixes first began as guides for her dance class but her exquisite taste has now led her to dj in clubs and for radio. her mixes focus on sounds inspired by the elements that deeply resonate with mind and body.

"I love to play with the psychedelic facts and create raw, hypnotic but funky blends. It has to have a constant rhythm, but here and there breaky elements to surprise the brain, give it some recharge to go again to send energetic movements to the body."

Debbie's mix is conceptually based around a small blue animal, Glaucus Atlanticus - a cute looking creature that stores the poison of jellyfish 🪼

My first ever live Dj birthday set and first ever live Back to Back with Blerd.  We decided to go for a techno/electronic crossover set.  The BPMs were ramped higher than normal for me and we went for something we don't normally do.  Always love playing at LUNA with those amazing lights and the great audience vibes.  We had an absolute blast, and I'm so grateful we were able to pull off a live recording straight off the controller!  ENJOY!

Since the early nineties, as the techno scene was just beginning, I discovered my passion for electronic music. Experimenting with samples and breakbeats quickly became my obsession. Together with my best friend, we steadily upgraded our equipment and started producing Drum n Bass for our own parties and local performances. Over time, my style evolved, inspired by the boundless diversity of electronic dance music. Since 2008, I've been behind the mix decks at my own open-air parties (Heute ist Sommer, Draussen Housen) and various after-hours (Club L), where my sound—a mix of groovy, bouncy, as well as sexy, driving Deephouse and Techhouse—magnetically draws people onto the dance floor. My latest venture? AI music production. I'm exploring how Artificial Intelligence can push the boundaries of what's musically possible, creating unprecedented auditory experiences. My motto remains unchanged: "Keep on Pushing"!
