In 2003 a concept was born out of heavy influence from minimal techno producers of the time, archives of vinyl fresh for mix-mode sessions, Der Kontraktor started as a moniker for DJing and ran until 2007.  It was the beginning of a style embodied with flavor and a feel for the music that is everlasting.  Those that know the creation from this time and place, know the capabilities of the one who was experimenting with mixing fresh cuts of vinyl wax.  Now 20 years later, it is time to present the resurrection with new sounds and added experience!

We're delighted to present the newest addition to our AE series, a special 8-inch lathe cut vinyl release from the legendary duo Extrawelt. With AE-13's 'Urfeld', listeners are treated to two meticulously crafted 'twin tracks', revealing an almost telepathic connection. Each track delves into the positive and negative facets of a unified concept, creating an archaic and astral resonance with the number two. The result is a deeply warm and captivating dancefloor experience.

The 'Urfeld' tracks are the direct outcome of Extrawelt's intensive exploration of the Oberheim SEM. After acquiring the instrument, they immediately delved into its capabilities, 'Oberheiming' to discover its unique sonic voice. A single, immersive recording session, a deep dive into the SEM's potential, provided the raw material for these compositions. These tracks represent distinct sonic journeys within the same landscape, each derived from separate segments of that initial recording. As Extrawelt manipulated the SEM's parameters, a rich tapestry of textures, rhythmic patterns, and harmonic ideas unfolded. The sheer volume of this creative output required a split, resulting in two tracks that, while varying in tempo and stylistic approach, maintain a unified sonic signature—a testament to the Oberheim SEM's inherent character and Extrawelt's profound engagement with its expressive possibilities.

The release is available on lathe-cut vinyl via the Adepta Editions Bandcamp, and in digital format across all major streaming platforms.

Datapunk System is an artist whose journey began not in a studio, but in the raw, immediate world of beatboxing. Over a decade ago, with no instrument at his disposal, he mastered the art of creating rhythm with nothing but his voice. This early discipline laid the groundwork for a career that would later blend the spontaneity of the human touch with the precision of cutting-edge technology.

Now, at 28, he has spent years of practice his craft, transitioning from beatboxing to a live performance with futuristic synthesizers and sequencing equipment.

His tracks are a complex mosaic of IDM, the broken rhythms of Breakbeat, the improvisational spirit of Experimental Electronic Jazz, and the atmospheric depths of Ambient and Dark Electro. He rejects fleeting trends, opting instead for an organic and uncompromising approach to creation. For him, the process isn't about control; it's about flow and the continuous exploration of sound.

Bertha not only inspires the people around her with her positive energy and penchant for creativity on the dance floor but also on the decks. With her feeling for the music and the vibe in the room, the Hamburg native develops an atmosphere of a pleasant get-together and leads those who love dancing into a world of the fantastic. She herself describes her sound geographically: early education in Hamburg, teenage years in MV, garnished with Berlin and Leipzig sprinkles. Bertha plays whatever moves her heart. True to the motto “Gets in your ear. Stays in your head.”
