I put down this idea last November. I offload all my ideas to MP3 and listen to them in the car sometimes. I may just get an idea to finish one. So I put in the quieter verses and that last part. Then the LP spindown effect. Sounds good. I can't say enough about Native Instruments' Battery percussion VST. Using that, this song basically wrote itself.

So Paul Oakenfold came up in my recommended for YouTube. Sweet. I listened to that and got inspired to write something like his stuff. TRK01 is the bass and kick. It's from Native Instruments and you can't beat it to setup stuff like this. Battery for the hats. Obxd64, Vital, Massive, and Form for the synths. Alot of Loopmaster clips in there too.

I started this on a Fender Rhodes VST. Somehow the intro ended up being 4/4 then 3/4 then 4/4 then 3/4 thru the whole intro. I'm not very bright, so I couldn't figure out why Ableton wasn't fitting in everything well. Thanks to Dave Figura for his expertise with time signatures and sheet music stuff I can't come up with right away. And there's nothing like a muted horn solo, so that's in there. Oh and I've been using UAD's Capital Chambers for all my reverb since I got it. It's the best and deepest with great, full tails. I got the UAD Fairchild when it was almost free but never used it. I only tried it in place of where I had my 1176 and I didn't like it. But I tried it on the Drum Room preset for the drum tracks on this. Yikes! What a difference. Note to self...
