The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has decided not to add a small lizard found in parts of Texas to list of threatened or endangered species protected by the Endangered Species Act.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced it is listing the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard as endangered.

05/22/24 - FWS to list Texas, NM lizard as endangered

USDA's Prospective Plantings report, released Monday, says farmers are expected to plant another record corn crop in the US this year with an estimated 95.3 million acres - that's 5% higher than last year. 

The public now has more time to comment on a proposal to list the monarch butterflies threatened under the Endangered Species Act. 

Texas corn planting has now reached the halfway mark.

Screwworms haven't been found in Texas in decades after a successful and monumental effort to eradicate them, but it's looking like they will be back soon. Texas livestock producers are encouraged to get ready. 

The comment period for a proposal to list the monarch butterfly is threatened is closing soon. 

Corn planting is still running a bit ahead of schedule here in Texas.
