One of my favorite stories is the legend of Niamh and Oisin and their journey to Tir na nÓg. A while ago, I created a shorter version I hoped to turn into a children's story. Instead, I have repurposed it into a song with the help of ChatGPT.

A Voice, At Last
All my life, I chased the dream of making music—only to be told “no” at every turn. I tried the drums, but got cut. I picked up the violin, and the music program vanished. I sang in the church choir—until they asked me to just lipsync. In college, I became one of the first all-digital DJs at SJSU, only to be labeled a fraud and lose my show.

Yet, music never left me. It lives in my bones, radiates from every pore. It’s a love I’ve carried in silence, watching those around me express what I never could. My mother on accordion. My father on guitar. My sister on piano and flute. My wife, a pianist and singer. Her mother, a world-renowned opera performer. My grandfather, my uncles, my aunt—masters of instruments I could only dream of.

I was a man without a voice... until now.

Thanks to AI, I can finally bring the music in my head to life. It’s not traditional. It’s not perfect. But it’s real—and it’s mine. Every track I release is a piece of the dream I’ve carried since childhood, finally finding air.

To all the musicians I admire: you are magic. I don’t pretend to match your brilliance. I simply hope to join the song.
