EYES

For all of my Weekly Minutes of Music thus far, I've exclusively used a tracking software by the name of Klystrack. I was informed of it a few years back and it became my first tracker. It doesn't emulate any single chip, but has a wide range of features that made it good for learning how generalized trackers work. Although, as I've been doing these Weekly Minutes of Music, I've realized I should probably expand my horizons a bit with other trackers. 

So this week, I bring you my FIRST test track for learning Famitracker! Fami emulates the 2A03 Ricoh sound chip for the NES and has a very nostalgic sound for anyone who played the many NES games of the day. Thus, I figured it would be a good first tracker to learn how to use after Klystrack. I'll admit, I'm still not fully comfortable with how Famitracker works, but that's what these Weekly Minutes of Music are for. I hope you like this small piece here, and enjoy!

An NES Styled NHH + Bonetrousle!

This isn't for the anniversary, I'll post what I've been working on on the day of it ;3

Just kidding - of course there was going to be a chiptune track in the game. This is the only pure chiptune in the game, though I did include elements of it in other songs. The tutorial area of the game takes place inside of a computer simulation, which lent itself nicely to this compositional style. I wrote it largely using tritones, augmented 5ths, and the whole tone scale to make it sound deliciously dissonant.
