बच्चों को अनुशासित करने के लिए अक्सर घरों और स्कूलों में दिया जाता है शारीरिक दंड, मगर WHO के अनुसार, ऐसा दंड, जीवन भर उनके दिलो-दिमाग़ और  विकास को करता है प्रभावित.

पश्चिम बंगाल में, कुछ महिलाओं ने संभाली, अपने गाँवों को खुले स्थानों में शौच करने के चलन से, छुटकारा दिलाने की ज़िम्मेदारी, कैसे हो रहा है ये सम्भव.
