Almost a year after playing my first set at Joylery, I found myself right back where it all began, this time for James’ toga-themed birthday, The High Summer Dream. What was meant to be a weekend of music and celebration turned into something much bigger: an official invite to step in as Resident DJ.

I’m honestly so grateful and honoured for the trust, the love, and the chance to keep co-creating with a community that’s as real as it gets. Joylery isn’t just a venue, it’s a place where music, chaos, laughter, and connection collide, and I’m beyond excited for all the unforgettable nights we’re going to make together.

🐍 Cult of the Velvet Rattlesnake, a swamp-blues-rock band from deepest Somerset with a unique twist: they take pop classics, strip them to the bone, and reimagine them as blistering, filthy, heavy electric blues numbers. Think Seasick Steve and Samantha Fish taking Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga to do whisky shots at a smoke-filled roadhouse somewhere in the deep south and you'd be on the same wavelength as Cult of the Velvet Rattlesnake. 🐍

Rustbucket Messiah is apocalyptic swamp gospel for the damned. Chainsaws for drums, banjos through distortion, sermons screamed in bathroom stalls at 3AM. Equal parts outlaw country, sludge punk, and grindhouse horror — a revival tent on fire, a Waffle House at the end of the world.

My "height of the night" music influence stems from being part of the now legendary UK warehouse parties and outdoor raves - Sunrise, Energy, World Dance, Biology, Back to the Future and Humanity, along with underground clubs - such as Rage, Astoria and Limelight back in 1989 - 1994. 
For this reason, I always aim to write dance anthems - those tracks that are played at the height of the night that just make you wanna dance.
