Zo wil Hyundai dit jaar -in samenwerking met haar Chinese partner Haomo- een AI-gedreven EV uitbrengen die speciaal toegewijd is voor de Chinese markt. Qua ambities legt de autofabrikant de lat sowieso hoog, want het is ook bezig met de ontwikkeling van een eigen solid-state batterij. Manager public relations Anne Lobbes vertelde aan presentator Robert van den Ham wat de laatste EV-ontwikkelingen zijn voor het Zuid-Koreaanse automerk, onder andere met een showcase van de Kona Electric Business Edition. 

Het Chinese NIO is wereldwijd al een belangrijke speler op het gebied van elektrische mobiliteit en zet met het model Firefly een gedurfde volgende stap. Qua uiterlijk doet de auto denken aan de kekke Honda E, maar desondanks is deze nieuwe 'urban' EV volstrekt van zichzelf. Te gast is Tristan Hamelink, general manager van NIO Nederland.
