This podcast was created by Ranye Ezenekwe and Lhadze Olsen, 10th grade AP Government students at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, Colorado. The podcast is about the First Lady's role as the unsung hero of American democracy. Throughout the podcast, we analyze the origins of this highly influential position and accurately narrate the first lady’s growing diplomatic prowess. Specifically, we highlight the contributions of Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Dolley Madison, and other inspiring first ladies. To conclude the podcast, we incorporated polling data based on whether our classmates believed a female president could take office within the next three elections. Despite the first lady's prominent position in championing social causes and advocating for policy reform, the data reveals that America still has to work towards promoting women’s role in government.
