In addition to exclusive (and often premiere) mixes of the Top 40 hits of the moment mixed in a way you can only find on Mixtacy, this show had a higher number of 90s backspins than usual, including KWS, Tracy Spencer, Another Bad Creation, Freak Nasty's Da Dip (for a reason I'll explain), Lenny Kravitz, Backstreet Boys, Biz Markie, and Snap! Other flashbacks included new mixes from Foreigner, New Order, Chicago(!) in hour 2, and Sister Sledge's We Are Family. Other surprises include deep Sabrina Carpenter, Sean Paul, and Flo Rida tracks!

Saturday Night Mixtacy 10/5/24- Top 40 Premiere mixes & forgotten, blazing backspins!

This show quickly turned into one of my favorites of 2024 as I heard how it all sounded in real-time!  We've done artist tributes over the history of the show but those have been sadly after they passed away. This show celebrated a living legend, Carlos Santana AND his band Santana, w/ several of his & his band's Top 40 hits over the 50+ years of their ON-GOING career (they're resuming their current tour in Vegas in late Oct). This show was also packed w/ premiere mixes of today's hits you expect, along w/ backspins (a few forgottens, of course) & a 140+ BPM nearly-40 minute finale that might be the most blazing high-BPM finale of 2024 so far.

Fun Fact: 

"Pictureplane"(Travis Egedy), is a popular artist known for making his come up in the electronic music scene, DIY Venues, also popular for hanging around artists like "Grimes" and "Crystal Castles" in the early come up days of these artist, he is also the one who came up with the word "Witch House" which is a playful word on "House" music, though "Witch House" is now a popular music genre that is enjoyed by many.

"Crystal Castles" are actually one of the very first, if not the first electronic music duo to actually invent "Witch House" music, as you can hear dark beats and sorrow drawn out voices off of some of their early (demo songs/ Demo Album) dating back from "2007" and before that, which is crazy to think since during that time "Witch House" did not have a name for itself yet.
