Before Them, We

Akila Richards' interview at the inaugural International Black Speculative Writing Festival to mark the release of her debut pamphlet, 'Ritual for a Mango'. She speaks to flipped eye's Lana Hughes about her wide-ranging career, interdisciplinary practice and the role of collaboration in poetry. Akila also reads her poems Karma and Amoral Deity from Ritual for a Mango, as well as a short version of the pamphlet’s titular poem.
