The Unspecified Crustacean* peers out from his hidey hole in the soft sand of the beach. It’s morning! Time to survey the flotsam the tide brought during the night.  He treads carefully out onto the sand, but, wait! Danger, Unspecified Crustacean! Are those seagulls in the distance?  The Unspecified Crustacean scurries back to the safety of his hidey hole.  

Ah, but not for long.  The flotsam still requires surveying — and he isn't getting any younger.  Our intrepid crustacean gathers up his courage, eases out into the sun, and makes his way through the landscape of tiny sand dunes.  

Cresting a ridge, suddenly sees everything around him!  Palm trees are swaying in the breeze.  Large waves crash on the distant coral reef.  All is the blue and green of Caribbean waters, the brown of warm sand, the azure sky, and white cotton puffs of clouds. Utter ecstasy!  The Unspecified Crustacean breaks into a tango!

Yes! An Unspecified Crustacean tango! 

Well, that is to say, it is at least as much of a tango as he can manage.  He is, after all, just a crustacean, a subphylum not especially known for their Latin dance skills … but still!

Finishing his dance, full of sunlight and joy,  but once again wary of the possibility of seagulls,  the Unspecified Crustacean returns to his hidey hole,  and takes shelter from the coming heat of the day.

Thoughts of his tango** return with him though; perhaps tomorrow, (yes! tomorrow!) he will dance again under the sun. Until then, siesta†.

* Unspecified Crustaceans belong to the subphylum Crustacea, and form a large, diverse group of arthropods including decapods, seed shrimp, branchiopods, fish lice, krill, remipedes, isopods, barnacles, copepods, amphipods, and mantis shrimp, just so you know. 

** Crustaceans have never won any international Latin dance competitions. Like, was that even a tango?  Maybe more like a samba? Or a Bossa Nova? Anyway, hope springs eternal for our brave Unspecified Crustacean.

All of my tracks on Soundcloud are free to download. 100% of my tracks on Soundcloud are my own original works, I don't do covers, arrangements or remixes.  I mainly write melodies, my pieces usually consist of a lot of melodic content and are melody driven. My music is multi-instrumental, I use many different instruments.. Many of my pieces contain more notes than a Pop song, less notes than a symphony. 

I compose music in many genres: Children's, Jazz, Melodic, Ethnic, Space, Halloween, Classical, Southern/Western, Rock. My music encompasses a lot of variety, it is eclectic. All my pieces have been notated, contact me and send me your email address if you want free PDF's of particular compositions. I currently use Sibelius 7.1.3 and Noteperformer. I have been writing music since I was in Junior High School, I have some songs with lyrics, but most are instrumentals. I was in band in High School and College, and I have been a member in several choirs as well.  

Update: I have recently uploaded virtually all of the compositions I have composed since 1997. I have included playlists as part of my offerings, with compositions from many novel genres.
