I can finally share with you a live recording from my debut at the Fold club in London, where I had the honor of playing at the invitation of the wonderful Andrømeda, to whom this episode of the RE:SISTANCE residency series belonged.

Playing there on February 14th was a truly magical experience - thank you for the energy, passion and love on the dance floor from the first moments of my opening. 

I played at Fold almost a month after David Lynch died, so I wanted to honor his memory in my set.

Stump at FOLD, second part of an 18hrs dance between two London heavyweight clubs. What a solid event and musical palette that’s been delivered with some incredible DJs and Live sets all around. It was such a pleasure to be back with the crews, old and new, deep tech and junglist combined.

This set flows through dub, dub techno, minimal tech, breakbeat and electro — reflecting the musical diversity and evolving sound of Stump.

As the founder of Newrhythmic Records, Joton has championed the work of countless national and international artists for over 20 years. Joton’s global reach as a DJ has taken him to over 30 countries, where he has performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages.

A prolific artist, Joton's work has been showcased on renowned labels including Illegal Alien, Fabric, Modularz, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Raw Raw, Dynamic Reflection, Quartz, Odd Even, and Skryptöm. His tracks have garnered support from legendary figures such as Ben Klock, DVS1, Rødhåd, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Truncate, and Go Hiyama.

In 2015, Joton released his debut album, Casting Out Nines, to critical acclaim, presenting it across ten countries on three continents. Two years later, he embraced his analog roots with the album R3silient. 2018 saw the release of Antioquia on Odd Even and Extreme Measures on RAW RAW, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in techno. His most recent album, Hikikomori (2021), was born out of his interactive production courses, reflecting themes of isolation during the pandemic.

In addition to his production and performance work, Joton is a respected educator. Since 2010, he has shared his knowledge through collaborations with leading brands like Arturia, Parallel Festival, Microfusa, Intec and The Bass Valley, as well as international institutions such as Beatworx Academy in India.

Joton’s performances have left an indelible mark on some of the world’s most celebrated venues, including  Tresorin Berlin, REX in Paris, Basement in New York, Corsica Studios in London, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Propagandain Moscow, Dommune in Tokyo, Vault Sessions in Amsterdam, Tunnel in Pereira, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Garein Porto, Infra in Boston, Under Club in Buenos Aires, Drugstore in Belgrade, Fabrik in Madrid, Technosnobs in Phoenix, among others.

Vivi is a DJ currently based in London. She grew up in Northern Ireland loving bloghaus and electronica, and now mixes techno, electro and breakbeat.  Vivi is the co-founder and resident DJ of Wake Up With Techno (@wuwt) and  Multitude (@multitude-london).

Thierry’s dedication and understanding in electronic music culture has been in constant growth for over 25 years, in term leading the Frenchman to settle path in London and build from the bottom up what has become one of the most loved, roaring and respected minimal house & techno events, Stump - a party known for its integrity and consistency in pushing through carefully curated bookings over extended marathon dance off.

At the heart of this narrative as a promoter there is an exquisite love and care for the best possible club energy defined by a perfect sound system, flawless production, carefully chosen scenery, and an irreproachable music selection, all joining dots in the sweet spot. The party has grown a faithful following while building a formidable community of talents with a similar grounding sound. Besides the many amazing guests (Raresh, Petre Inspirescu, Barac, Mihigh, Arapu, Cezar, Dubtil, Priku, Suciu, Gescu, Cap, Herodot and many more) there is a strong sense of belonging with its core of 4 residents Cally, Chrissy Hope, Kearun, and Thierry himself altogether representing the sound of Stump. 

Thierry’s background is anchored in a passion for underground and emerging forward-thinking music with attitude. Playing both Drum & Bass and Techno since the late 90s effortlessly brings up a unique blend of deep futuristic grooves and basslines, converging for the last decade into versatile club oriented sounds ranging from anything around and in between minimal techno house and breakbeats.

In 2006, International-Dj Mag picked one of his mixes for its Raw talent competition and comments >> “I try to transmit a deep energy”, he says and that’s what we liked about this set – if there’s one thing this mix has in spades it’s energy for sure!>

Constantly on the road to the dancefloors has been crucial to educate himself about the industry. Originally based at the Franco / German and Swiss borders gave him the opportunity to be involved with 3 distinctive scenes from the late 90s, one of the most influential era of the history of rave culture. Observing American, German, English, French and numerous other pioneers playing the many surrounding clubs was a weekly adventure. This is also when thierry started to practise behind the decks. Being actively involved with local crews allowed him to play clubs such as Scania Areal, Nordstern, Utopia, Bell Areal, Jazzhaus, Manege, Universal Dog, Laiterie, Noumatrouff, and countless illegal raves. 

Looking for new challenges, he moved to London in 2003 and settles in the underground world of sound systems and warehouse parties. Between 2005 and 2010, thierry (still known as Dj Trol then) was involved with Acme Soundz throwing raves with the likes of MFM sound, KSS, Disjunkt, Malfaiteurs, and eventually took charge of the Drum & Bass room for Family Groove. This took him gradually to play in some of the best venues around including the London Coronet, Seone, Mass Brixton, Lakota (Bristol), Alpheus (Rome), Mikroclub (Cagliari), alongside heroes Ed Rush, Bad Company, Noisia, Cause4Concern, Black Sun Empire, Joey Beltram, Marco Remus, Dj Rush, Miss Djax, Valentino Kanzyani, Dave The Drummer. 

Thierry’s drive to promote has kept him busy still from 2015 by helping Art of Dark and Home London events on the smooth running of their operations taking place at Studio 338, Troxy, MangleE8, Oval Space, Studio 9294, Fold, bringing an array of the most loved and talented international artists to London.

Andrømeda is a DJ and producer renowned for her raw and uncompromising techno. Drawing inspiration from old school rave ethos, her sets range from groovy and hypnotic to dark and powerful, creating a compelling narrative that transcends genres and boundaries. A key figure in the UK techno scene and resident DJ at FOLD in London, Andrømeda is recognised for her intricate track selection. She is gaining recognition for her production skills with releases on esteemed labels like Natural Selection, Ear to Ground, Rant & Rave, Raw Quarter and Mhost Likely. Hosting a bi-monthly show “Xplore” on Threads Radio, she regularly features global artists and continues to make her mark with regular performances at some of the best clubs across Europe. Andrømeda's journey is one of limitless exploration as she embarks on a journey through the endless depths of electronic music.
