In this ninetieth episode of the Wisdom for Life radio show, hosts Dan Hayes and Greg Sadler continue exploring Cicero’s work the Stoic Paradoxes, looking at paradox number 4, which asserts that "all foolish people are insane"

They discuss the points that Cicero makes in this part of the work, which is that from a Stoic perspective there is an equivalency between moral badness, foolishness or ignorance about important matters, and insanity or mental illness. Another key question is whether people who are mentally ill can be blamed for the things they do, or whether they ought to be given a complete pass, or some position in between. Dan and Greg explore these by examining actual Stoic texts and thinkers, including Seneca, Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius, Musonius Rufus, and Cicero.
