Crashing Out

I'm from Gaston Alabama and still Have a southern twang in a few of my words even after living in Bloomington IL for 12 years. I now reside in Jacksonville FL and it feels great to be back in the south. By my first steps, I was a hell raiser. I've heard people say my life would make a good book but we don't have time for that right now. So I'll keep it short. By age 5 I lived in the basement of a house with rats the size of cats and roaches that could care less if the lights were on or off. My mother and stepfather did their best to raise me in a God-fearing home. My stepfather who is nothing short of my Dad (unlike the sperm donor of a psychiatrist my mother had back in the 80s) has a powerful testimony as well. A true rags to riches story. By seven years old I had my first sexual experience with a girl twice my age. By the time I was 12 I was smoking cigarettes and stealing liquor out of my parents cabinet. It was a downward spiral from there.
I've hurt a lot of people mentally and physically. I had my daughter Anniya out of wedlock at age 18. At age 23 had my son Malachi with a different woman, who I was not married to at the time, but by the grace of God I am married to now! I have eleven felony convictions on my record from the state of Illinois. I was an addict, a dealer, a thief, selfish, full of anger and just an all-around scumbag. But on this last bid I was sentenced to 5 yrs in prison. I was released after 2 1/2 years on good behavior. I prayed every day I was locked up that YHWH would take the taste for drugs and alcohol away from me and restore the relationship with my family and kids. I stayed in his word and I tried my hardest to live a life that would please Him! He answered my prayers and delivered me from my addictions. To this day I still try my hardest to live a life that pleases Him, but I fall short daily. I know I need Yahuwah and I don't deserve any of the gifts that I've been blessed with. Music drives me and lets me express my hardships and advice to others when I say music is my life that's an understatement. But YHWH's grace and mercy is shinning on me and I will never quit this mission to reach as many souls as possible through music ministry.
