The MSU Extension Product Center provides business counseling and helps entrepreneurs launch new food and beverage products.

For example: just one specialized service provided is the development of Nutrition Facts labels. Food businesses may contact the Product Center for assistance with labeling.

Michigan Business Beat | Jamie Rahrig - MSU Gearing up for April 20th Making It in Michigan Event

Affordable Homeless Housing Alternatives (AHHA) will be hosting their first Community Outreach Meal Effort (COME) with a Community BBQ on Saturday, April 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Halvorsen Park, Waterfront Drive, Eureka, Calif. Since 2014, AHHA has worked with members in the community without housing to provide information, education, advocacy, direct service, and policy development. AHHA’s ultimate goal is building affordable housing alternatives in various locations in the county. The organization has initiated programs such as the Shower Care-A-Van. Between the years 2021 and 2022, 3,564 hot showers were provided to 855 unique individuals. 7,248 guests were provided with basic hygienic supplies, fresh clothing, a sack of lunch, non-perishable food to go, and familiar faces to touch base with and who helped them access resources and support.

“What we need most now are volunteers to reinvigorate the working components of the organization, and work on new projects,” Nezzie Wade, President of AHHA said. “We are at an exciting time and at a
crossroads. You will see the results of your work because it has a direct impact on people; you will engage with others and through creative collaborations, innovate and implement solutions for people to be safe, warm, and dry. You will have many opportunities to live your values and leave a legacy. You will make a difference. Please consider volunteering.”
