Free to Run...and Run...and Run!

In this week’s message, Israel demands a king to be “like the nations,” rejecting God as their true King. But even in their rebellion, God’s redemptive plan keeps moving forward. Substitutes always disappoint, but Jesus, the true King, gives freedom, life, and leadership we can trust. Surrender fully to Him; He’s the only one worthy of the throne.

In a world clouded by deception, we're called to be a community of truth-tellers. The ninth commandment, 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor,' isn't just about avoiding lies – it's about recognizing the profound power of our words. James 3 vividly illustrates how our tongue, though small, can steer our entire life like a rudder guides a ship. Our words have the potential to bless or curse, to heal or destroy. As followers of Christ, we're challenged to speak truth in love, balancing honesty with compassion. This requires humility, self-reflection, and a deep understanding of our own flaws. By setting up 'humility time' in prayer, making commitment cards, and running our speech through a truth and love grid, we can begin to tame our tongues. Ultimately, our ability to speak truth stems from finding our identity and security in Christ, freeing us from the need to deceive or impress others.

"Freedom" was born from a powerful moment of faith and inspiration. It reflects the second confirmation I received that the Lord Jesus Christ lives within me. In a world where light and darkness are in constant battle, this track is my humble way of expressing the truth I hold in my heart: Jesus is the only way to life, love, and purpose.

My name is John. I have been a broadcaster for five years and have been writing music and poetry for twenty years. I didn’t even realize I could read and write until I discovered I have mirror-touch synesthesia. I perceive everything from right to left: my poetry, words, and compassion. My childhood was challenging, to put it mildly. However, God showed me a way to help others through the words I share. Every song I write serves as a ministry. By addressing various issues, I hope to assist those with troubled pasts find healing through my words. I am a pastor, and this is how I spread God’s message—by feeling the emotions around me and understanding the feelings of the people I encounter, because I have experienced similar struggles. God allows me to see you in ways that others cannot.
