Mechanical faces

2024; The song tells a story of rebellion against religious dogmatism and moral oppression. It does not criticize individual believers, but rather the way certain religious authorities condemn love—especially queer love—while acting hypocritically themselves. The recurring line “Your god is dead” serves as a symbol for the collapse of a rigid, loveless system that maintains its power through fear and guilt. Instead, the song celebrates self-determination, freedom from shame, and the courage to love authentically. The song portrays a brutal, militant EBM battle cry set in a dystopian environment ruled by pressure, violence, and relentless physical force. Imagery of echoes, shadows, and hidden chambers symbolizes introspection and the peeling away of old barriers. Coronardefekt is an electronic music project from Halle (Saale), Germany, that has been developing the connection between sound, technology, and emotion since the early 1990s.

My journey began in 1992, when a fascination with electronic sound generation and synthesizers laid the foundation for everything that followed. Influenced by Depeche Mode, Front 242, Delerium, Front Line Assembly, Dead Can Dance, and many others, I began creating my own sonic worlds – dark, driving, and emotional.

My music moves freely between Electro, House, EBM, Hip-Hop, and experimental sound structures – everything that inspires, excites, and moves me. I produce with a variety of synthesizers and analog sound sources – including the Yamaha MOXF6, Microkorg-S, Deepmind 12, Arturia Microbrute, Yamaha DX7, and Behringer TD-3-BU – with Ableton Live as the creative hub.

Each track is created with a focus on atmosphere, texture, and emotion – an expression of my personal sound journey. So far, all releases have remained private, but the essence lies in the creative process itself: sound research, sound design, and the pure joy of electronic music.

I don’t see myself as a product, but as an ongoing experiment – a project that grows, transforms, and continually redefines itself.

I'm a UX designer by trade. I dabble in illustration and animation. I also love EBM, industrial and agro-tech music.

I create seamless fusions of just about everything. All visceral, atmospheric and psychedelic with hidden depths upon closer inspection. The flow is also important. It exists on a continuum with micro-variations and subtle evolutions along the way.
The music can range from low down heavy darkness to softer and more positive, higher-vibrational new age. Yet even at it’s most crushing and industrial never succumbing to nihilism and instead feeling warm and inviting.
Very often humorous (in the form of deliberate cinematic pastiches), freaky and surreal. Inspired by dystopian sci-fi. Retro-futuristic.
I often wear my influences on my sleeve like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream but at my core I’m still self-referential with my sound. It operates at my own personal frequency.
