I took samples from an ABC (Australian Broadcasting Company) interview with a Queensland rancher, and blended it with audio from the film Europa Report.

This is version 1, which means I am getting feedback from people who can give me some honest critiques.

In the style of Meat Beat Manifesto, Front Line Assembly, and other similar artists, this track features no lyrics or vocals. It blends found sounds with digital instruments. 
Listen for excerpts from an interview with Patrick Stewart, and a British Airways pilot talking about how he saved a 777 full of passengers with a crash landing at Heathrow.
Some of the found sounds come from the video games of Valve Studios.

This is the sixth track of my EP. It samples from an interview Dr. Jordan Peterson had with professor Jacob Howland in a discussion about mankind's finitude. This was extracted from the Jordan Peterson Podcast, episode 536, published April 7, 2025. The other samples are from the flight computer of a commercial jetliner while landing, calling out elevation milestones.

I do not believe I need to credit Bernie Sanders for lending his voice for this track. The audio clips are extracted from a confrontation between Senator Markwayne Mullin and Teamsters President Sean O’Brien from November 14, 2023.
This is a second version of this song, with the first version being my second effort with Garage Band. This one is much more refined, and has a heavier beat.

It does not have any vocals, but samples generously from the film Europa Report, and an interview on ABC (Australia Broadcasting Corporation). This is composed entirely in GarageBand. I appended the V2 suffix to indicate it is an updated version.

I'm a UX designer by trade. I dabble in illustration and animation. I also love EBM, industrial and agro-tech music.

I’ve complained in the past about modern music needing a jolt of innovation without coming off as pretentious. Phidippus seems to epitomize the desire to make great music while refusing to keep to one specific formula, making his trajectory as an artist fascinating to watch. I find Phidippus to be an immensely underappreciated musician who just needs one big hit to make his name reverberate throughout the densely packed world of electronica, and I hope that that day comes sooner rather than later.

1984: Plays first instrument, the autoharp.
1985: Joins a break dancing troop.
1986: Dad buys Amiga 1000. 'Sampled' music discovered.
1990: Gets hands on an Ensoniq EPS-16+ sampling workstation and proceeds to make bad music.
1998: CD EP, "Voluptuous", released. After receiving a demo copy, the staff of Peter Gabriel's record label enjoy the CD as they write memos.
1999: Produces remixes for New Vision Recordings and other labels in the UK.
2000: Mercedes, Smirnoff and other companies license Eric's music to promote their products.
2001: Launches New Vision America, a record label. After three singles are released, the label dies a quiet death.
2005: Scores the best selling game, "Belle's Beauty Boutique". What? Its cute.
2008: Releases full length CD, "ES: When I was Emptyhead 1997-2007". The CD goes on to receive airplay in major markets and commendations from the press, including such publications as Knowledge and XLR8R.
2011: Remixes artists such as The B-52s, Summer Channel and Sasha.
2013: Starts producing under the name Phidippus and begins work on the '170' project.
2019: 'When I was Emptyhead 1997-2007' is re-released under the Phidippus moniker and is made available in all major online music outlets.
2019: The Phidippus album '170.1' is released in all major online music outlets.
2020: The album '170.2' is released online
2021: '170.3' and '170.4' albums are released online
2022: http://www.soundcloud.com/phidippus reaches the 400,000 mark in total plays and 11,000 followers
2022: An EP concocted by Phidippus and producer Surreal8Zero is signed to Full Send DnB

I create seamless fusions of just about everything. All visceral, atmospheric and psychedelic with hidden depths upon closer inspection. The flow is also important. It exists on a continuum with micro-variations and subtle evolutions along the way.
The music can range from low down heavy darkness to softer and more positive, higher-vibrational new age. Yet even at it’s most crushing and industrial never succumbing to nihilism and instead feeling warm and inviting.
Very often humorous (in the form of deliberate cinematic pastiches), freaky and surreal. Inspired by dystopian sci-fi. Retro-futuristic.
I often wear my influences on my sleeve like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream but at my core I’m still self-referential with my sound. It operates at my own personal frequency.
