Scottish alt-rock trio Anchor Lane will release their new collaboration single Sychophant Disorder ft. Lo Rays via R7 Records on Friday 31st May 2024. 
The re-worked single is taken from the band’s successful album Call This a Reality? and features Glasgow based post-apocalyptic pop outfit Lo Rays.

Sychophant Disorder is a high energy, synth driven rock track that touches on the subject of recent societal events.

I wrote WORK ALL DAY as a raw and personal take on the emotional weight of the daily grind. It’s about exhaustion, broken trains, broken cars and that creeping feeling that maybe it’s not just me… maybe the system’s broken too.
I tried to turn that frustration into something you can move to, sing to, or just shout out loud!

그 안에 담긴 시편의 말씀이
이 곡의 가사가 되었습니다.
이 말씀은,
절망에 빠져 체념할 것 같은 나를 부드럽게 끌어안아준 하나님의 음성이었습니다.
혼자서 조용히 멜로디를 읊조렸고,
그것이 이 노래의 시작이 되었습니다.

때로는 울며, 호소하고 기도하며 매달리는 것 밖에는 할 수 있는 일이 없어요.
하지만, 하나님은 시련을 주실 때, 더 큰 선물을 예비하신다고 하더군요.
그리고, 가장 깊은 고통 속에 있을 때, 가장 가까이 와 계신다고 하더군요.
이 노래는
하나님 안에서
무너진 마음을 내보이고, 내 옆에 계신 하나님에 의지하여 다시 일어서기 위해
혼자서 읊조리는 고백입니다.

This song began at Hong Kong International Airport.  
Surrounded by countless people leaving for different reasons—  
excitement, longing, adventure, business—  
my heart had hit rock bottom.  
I was weary, lonely, and deeply exhausted.

I could go anywhere,  
but I didn’t know where I could go to escape the sadness.  
Airports seem full of freedom,  
but to me, they felt like places filled with emptiness—  
where no one really lands.

At that moment, I opened a letter.  
Inside was a verse from the Psalms.  
That verse became the lyrics to this song.

It was God’s voice, gently holding me  
just as I was about to give up in despair.

I quietly hummed a melody to myself,  
and that was the beginning of this song.

Sometimes, all we can do is cry, plead, pray, and cling.  
But I’ve learned that when God allows trials,  
He also prepares greater gifts.  
And that He is closest when we are in our deepest pain.

This song is a quiet confession,  
a personal prayer to rise again—  
by showing my broken heart honestly before God,  
and leaning on the One who sits beside me.

"Princess" is for anyone who's ever felt like a personal handyman and therapist instead of a partner. The song is a frustrated look at the dynamic of dealing with someone who turns every minor inconvenience into a major drama, expecting you to solve it all. It's about being tired of the act.

Since releasing their stunning debut EP 'New Beginning' Anchor Lane have rapidly grown in stature and reputation, steadily building momentum and picking up rave reviews in national and regional press. The band have toured incessantly scoring notable guest slots with Cheap Trick, Eagles of Death Metal and Tremonti. 

Their reputation as a thrilling and dynamic live act secured them slots at prominent festivals Isle of Wight, Stone Free at London’s O2 Arena, Hard Rock Hell, Winterstorm and Scotland’s beloved Belladrum. A highlight was the legendary Download Festival where the band played a blinding set on the Dogtooth Stage to a packed-out tent of fervent fans.  

Anchor Lane are currently putting the finishing touches to their eagerly awaited debut album, due for release in January 2020. The album was produced by Toby Jepson (Wayward Sons, Gun, Little Angels) and features songs co-written by Ricky Warwick (Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy, The Almighty).
