Title: GOD WILL PAY OUR TRAVEL EXPENSES!

Scripture: Psalms 41:1
Psalms 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

Sermon Points:
-	James 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
-	James 2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
-	James 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
-	God’s Word says, “We should be after the poor.”
-	Luke 14:13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
-	Luke 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
-	Luke 14:12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
-	Luke 14:13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
-	Luke 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
-	Until I remembered how God tells us to get out of trouble; how to come through adversity. First you go to Him and then you trust and obey Him.
-	Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
-	Psalms 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
-	He chose!
-	Isaiah 61:1 The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
-	Now the Bible defines Pure Religion in James 1:27
-	James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
-	Psalms 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
-	Psalms 41:2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
-	Jesus will pay the travel expense of those that go after the poor and the lost.

Title: SOMEONE IS READING YOU!

Scripture: II Corinthians 3:2
II Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

Sermon Points:
-	However, something else happened to that tree because it had to be cut down!
01.	Many things had to happen, people had to die, for you and I to have the gospel in our hands tonight.
-	Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
02.	It cost you and I to have this piece of paper in our hand.
-	John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
-	I wonder all the things that coin was spent on, liquor, drugs, pornography, but now is found and has the ultimate privilege of purchasing God’s Word for some Missionary!
-	It took planting, pruning, growing, it took having to stand many a storm, lightning strikes and disease carrying bugs.
03.	You and I are an Epistle!
-	II Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 
-	I Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
-	To some folks, you and I are the sinner’s gospel. You and I are the Lord’s last message to somebody written in deed and by word.  What we do and say matters!
-	Let’s live clean lives so the letter will not be smeared with rap music, filthy mouth, language, no purpose, garbage, the world. So much nobody will be able to read the truth. Can others see Jesus in you? Is the Epistle worth reading?”
-	Dad, Mom, you must weather the storms.  Son, you must weather the storms, daughter, you too. Preacher, Sunday, schoolteacher, bus worker, you must weather the storms of life and come out of it with a good spirit and a good attitude. Why? Because unbelievers are reading you and how you handle life. They’re looking for answers to peace and happiness!
-	II Corinthians 6:4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
-	II Corinthians 6:5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

Title: LET’S DELIVER THE PACKAGE!

Scripture: II Timothy 4:7

Sermon Points:
-	Faith is a package and Paul delivered it to the next generation. The package consists of fighting a good fight, finishing your course and keeping the faith.
-	We feel less secure and wonder about our financial future as we grow older, and it becomes harder to keep together the package of faith that God has given us through his word!
-	Romans 10:17 
-	Romans 12:3 
-	Not just salvation, but the virgin birth, the perfect sinless life of Christ, the vicarious death of Christ, the verbal inspiration of the Bible, the bodily resurrection of the Lord, the second coming of Christ, baptism by immersion, local church, the preaching and spreading of the gospel. The faith includes living a life of separation. Our faith package includes the whole body of truth, all bound together by our purpose and that’s following our savior.
-	Paul was saying as he was preparing himself to die, “Everything that was handed to me and taught to me from the time God called me has been kept just as it was given to me in the first place!”
-	So, what is it in this faith package that we are supposed to keep?  What did Paul keep?
01.	We are to keep the faith intact.
-	Paul kept the faith intact by not adding to the faith, improving the faith, subtracting from the faith, or refining the faith.
-	Guess what?  It has never changed!
-	John 1:14 
-	Malachi 3:6 
-	Psalms 119:89 
-	John 12:48 
-	Matthew 18:7 
-	The Bible was once delivered to the saints. it’s not twice delivered. It has been revealed to man in the world, and nobody can add to it or take away from it and still expect God to bless it.
-	Revelations 22:18-19 
02.	Let’s keep the faith in order.
-	Friendship, love, marriage, sex, children!
-	Salvation, baptism, church membership, Lord’s Supper!
-	Work, money, buy.
-	He did not fall for every fad that came along like coffee shops. He did not run for mayor or dog catcher. He did not spend his time fighting Democrats or abortion. He kept focused on winning folks to Christ. We do not Christianize the words of a secular song. We won’t have a trendy pastor; I’m still dressing the same I did 25 years ago my tailor is still Goodwill or thrift town!
-	We are not to learn truth to teach it to others. We are to obey the truth by spreading it to others.
03.	Let’s keep the faith in motion.
-	James 1:22 
-	Paul did not deviate into a deeper life Preacher and let the world die and go to Hell.
-	These deeper lifers talk about how much Bible they know yet they have yet to discover the great commission. I believe in learning the Bible, but I also believe in practicing what I’ve learned. I would much rather be a nut on a street corner preaching the gospel than a Greek scholar sitting behind a desk letting the world die and go to hell!!
-	Let’s deliver the package of faith like it was given to us, intact, in order and in motion.

Title: CATCHING UP!

Scripture: Revelation 21:7; John 16:33
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Sermon Points:
-	God’s Promises to this Group.
1.)	Someday they will eat from the tree of life.
-	Revelation 2:7
2.)	They will eat of the hidden manna.
-	Revelation 2:17
3.)	They will be given a white stone with a new name on it.
-	Revelation 2:17
4.)	Someday they will have power over nations.
-	Revelations 2:26
-	Revelation 3:21
-	This group of people who fell behind and are attempting to catch up, or have caught up, they are Overcomers! Saved!
-	I John 5:5
-	But before you can catch up, you must be behind and tell yourself the truth!
-	It’s interesting. The Bible doesn’t say why they fell behind. If you have fallen behind and catch up, God has a special reward for you! You may have caused it or let it happen, or you may have had no choice in the matter, but the Bible doesn’t say how anyone falls behind here.
01.	Folks that ride the bus.
-	Matthew 25:35-36
-	But, rest assured that if you are behind and catch up or you are attempting to catch up, God has a special reward for you!
-	You did not choose to be born, where you were born. You did not choose a gang infested drug peddling neighborhood to live in. You did not choose to be a single parent trying to raise children. But it happened and God promises a special reward if you will overcome or catch up!
-	One of these promises is that they who overcome will become a pillar in the church of God.
-	Revelation 3:12
02.	People that spent years away from God.
-	Luke 15:13
-	Some of you did what you wanted to do and here you sit, away from God and the truth is you have fallen behind. But we have a great example for us to follow.
-	John 16:33
03.	Folks that have fallen behind in their marriage.
-	I got good news for you, God offer special incentives if you’ll attempt to catch up and overcome. Do not think this is the end people, wives, husbands who attempt to overcome are very special to God.
-	If you have been born again of the Spirit of God then you can overcome after falling behind because you have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in your mortal body.
-	Ephesians 4:30
-	Romans 8:37
-	John 16:33

Title: FRAGMENTS THAT REMAIN!

Scripture: John 6:1-13
John 6:1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
John 6:2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
John 6:3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
John 6:4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
John 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
John 6:6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
John 6:7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
John 6:8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
John 6:10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
John 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
John 6:12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
John 6:13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

Sermon Points:
01.	John 6:12 - We are all just fragments that remain of a broken life or a sin-stained life, but buddy when Jesus gathers us up, we can become so much more!
02.	John 6:13 - This verse says that the fragments that remained became over and above that which was eaten; this is another miracle, within a miracle! So, there were more fragments gathered up than there was food that was eaten!
-	Jesus can make more out of your latter end that there ever was in the beginning! just like with Job! 
-	Job 42:12 - So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning
03.	Notice, nothing was wasted, nothing was considered too far gone!
04.	John 6:12 - Notice there were A LOT of fragments! 12 Baskets full, but there are still more fragments out there!
05.	John 6:9 - Look at the sacrifice of the young lad, he gave Jesus all he had and Jesus took it, blessed it, and not only did he get it back, but he was able to be a blessing to over 5000 people that day!

Title: THE DANGER OF AN UNSATISFIED APPETITE!

Scripture: Hebrews 13:5; I Timothy 6:8; Philippians 4:11
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
I Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Sermon Points:
-	A person is rich when his wants and his haves equal. Thus, anyone can choose, or decide, to be rich at any given moment in time.
-	Folks are poor not because of what they have, but because of what they want that they don’t have.
-	What most young couples do is try to bypass pain and struggle, and the combination of both are financial and spiritual disaster.
-	James 1:2-3
-	II Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
-	Romans 5:3-4
-	Isaiah 48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
-	Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
-	That’s not true. If you will delight in the Lord, he will help you desire what you should desire.
-	Delight = To please Greatly
-	When the Lord gives us what to want, then He gives us what we want!
01.	Example of Friendship
-	Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
-	Learn to be satisfied being their friend, without them being yours.
-	Because we have a will, and if we can adjust our wants to the level of our haves it will be done by our will!
-	Romans 12.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
-	Curbing our appetite with a friendship so our wants will equal our haves. 
1.)	First a friend turns on you and forsakes you.
2.)	Second, I will continue to be a friend to them.
3.)	I will withdraw my appetite for THEIR friendship!
4.)	Be satisfied being their friend without them being yours.
02.	In our Buying.
-	What we were doing is we were willing to not let our wants to be stimulated beyond our haves. If you can, will yourself to make that happen, you’ll be rich.
-	I Timothy 6:6-10 they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
-	The content folks the happy and rich folks are those whose wants equal their haves!
-	The secret to this balancing we are talking about is called our will. If we can develop our will to adjust our wants to the level of our haves we will be a rich and happy person. Why because we will end up doing His will.
-	Romans 12:1-2
03.	What will help develop your will to keep your heart equal to your wants? Here are some practical things.
1.)	Quit looking at things you cannot afford.
2.)	Take better care of what you do have.
3.)	Decide today to want what you have today.
4.)	Only by delighting in the Lord, can our wants be adjusted
-	Delight = To want to please greatly
-	What does “Getting Ahead” even mean? It’s the world telling you what is important.
-	Stop living to “get ahead” and start living to please Jesus and you’ll have riches for eternity not just 70 or so years.

Title: DOING WHAT GOD EXPECTED YOU TO DO!

Scripture: I Kings 19:18; Jeremiah 29:11
I Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Sermon Points:
01.	There has always been a sense or a feeling in my life that there was always something or somebody outside of me, pulling me towards them.
-	John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
-	John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
-	Somebody in here is thinking, and some of us have realized that, “I’ve wasted enough time!”
-	TBC is and always will be a Church that is looking for the next soul, the next salvation, the next visitor, the next miracle, and looking for God to do something in someone’s life.
-	Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
02.	People are always looking for a magic moment, but it is a series of moments that gets you to where God wants you.
-	Psalms 27:2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
-	Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
03.	A lot of people cannot deal with life because they lack the patience to go through the process to become a who God wants them to be.
-	Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
04.	If you don’t go through the process to get it, then you’re not going to have the power to keep it.
-	Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
-	Romans 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
-	Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
-	Did you know you can frustrate God as well as yourself by skipping the process of your life?
-	Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
-	Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
05.	It’s an inside job! What’s holding you back is you.
-	I Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
06.	When you finally find your purpose in life, it’s hard to look back and regret the process.
-	Romans 8:28 
07.	What you go through now helps you learn how to do what you’re going be doing when you find your purpose.
08.	If we let them, afflictions will work for our good.
-	II Corinthians 4:17 
-	So, He can get you out of your comfort zone, a comfort zone without Him as your focus. So, you will focus on Him and need Him and maybe finally follow Him all the way to your purpose.
09.	The eagle eventually has to stir her nest to get the young eagles to fly.
10.	Success is about purpose and doing the thing you were created to do and that is to glorify Jesus Christ!
-	Isaiah 43:7 
-	Happiness is knowing your purpose in life, and that is glorifying Christ. And realizing you’re contributing to that purpose by the way you live your life.

Proverbs 23:29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
Proverbs 23:30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
Proverbs 23:31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
Proverbs 23:32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
Proverbs 23:33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
Proverbs 23:34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.

-	If Jesus says, “Don’t even look at it when it is fermented then that settles the question…”
-	Proverbs 23:31.
03.	What it does to our testimony or witness.
-	Romans 14:21 
-	Losing our witness, could cause others to go astray and cause them to stumble in their faith.
-	Not only you ruined your testimony, (and hopefully your job if you’re a Pastor) but you caused them to stumble in their faith and go back to drinking.
04.	Let us be Spirit filled instead of spirits filled.
-	Romans 8:5 
-	Let us make the Holy Spirit, our primary influence in our lives and not alcohol as a means of escape and comfort.
-	I Corinthians 3:16 
-	If you are struggling with alcohol or struggling with believing it is wrong, I’m on your side and I’ve been there.  I do understand the difficulty there is to quit.  Take time for self-examination and discernment and ensure your actions align with God’s Word and God’s Will for your life.
-	Isaiah 29:13 
-	I John 2:15

As Pastor of Texas Baptist Church, I would personally like to thank you ﻿for taking the time to listen and allowing us a few minutes to introduce our ministry to you.
