Looking For Love In A Disco

Paul Rowe returns to the decks this week for a stunning all-vinyl session of "Funky Disco", which is also the name of his excellent show on NDC Radio on a Sunday afternoon. His first hour brings the essence of summer to listeners all over the world. 

His guest was PEDRO FROM LISBON. You can guess from his name where he is originally from, but now he's living in sunny Devon in the UK. Pedro is a veteran DJ who has been spinning grooves since 1996, and he plays a wide selection of music, that ranges from soul, funk, disco, Brazilian and African grooves. Thanks to Mila SZQ's friendly support, I had my local breakthrough at the start of 2024 with a pole position slot at the packed InterMúsica event at Nummer zu Platz in Bielefeld. Since then, I have performed at various events at the aforementioned club, as well as at the Forum Bielefeld and at events organised by the International Student Council (ISR) of Bielefeld University, in addition to private parties.

My sets conjure up summer vibes and memorable parties with warm, dance-inducing tunes. I feel most at home with Latin American, Brazilian, Caribbean and African rhythms, as well as all the associated genres. Last but not least, I also have a great affinity for electronic dance music, especially drum & bass/jungle, as well as certain subgenres of house and techno.

I always endeavour to broaden my musical horizons by exploring new sounds in an open-minded way and incorporating them into my repertoire, and eventually showcasing a few slices of it here and whenever I play at an event.

The Original Horsebox Disco is a full stand-alone sound system with its own generator, sound and lighting system. This can go anywhere anytime with a host of DJs to choose from. We have DJs for all tastes: Disco, House, Soulful House, 80s / 90s / Classics Anthems you name it we have it covered. We can be up and running in less than half an hour after arrival at a venue. We have 3 system sizes to choose from, 5K / 10K or the massive 15K system. We have an array of lighting available again all to your choice. I am a music producer/composer from Sydney, Australia. Classically trained percussionist and drummer. Played in orchestras and nightclub bands for several years. I've got a diverse musical portfolio from Rockabilly tours around the world to producing House and EDM tracks, I've lived multiple musical lives with these experiences and collaborations significantly influencing my electronic compositions.
