🏇 CRAZY HORSE: SHAOLIN FABLE OF THE BASS TEMPLE

Before the rave, there was rhythm.
Before the skank, there was the stampede.
And before jungle had a name, Crazy Horse rode breakbeats into battle.

Half-myth, half-monk, full rude boy. Crazy Horse was raised deep in the Shaolin jungles, trained in ancient fighting styles, secret polyrhythms, and the lost art of bamboo funk. They say he never spoke a word, only communicated through hoof-syncopation and coconut percussion. His enemies didn’t fear his fists, they feared the vinyl crackle that appeared before he entered a dancefloor.

He trained by battling wild rhythms at 160 BPM.
He meditated to layered Funky Mule breaks.
He could parry sword strikes with cowbells and channel inner peace through slap bass.

This track is his initiation story, the sound of Crazy Horse practicing kung fu under a blood-orange moon, surrounded by tribal drummers and spiritual ravers.

Every snare is a stance.
Every bongo is a block.
Every hoofbeat is a philosophy.

Hey, I am a creator who loves Roastin’ Beats!

Schitzoph0nik is a non-binary (and genre fluid), DJ and Vocalist who specializes in funk and bass music, and whose focus is diversity and harmony. Mixing all sorts of styles of music together, and with a background of music theory in Jazz at VIU, and a love of Blues, Reggae, Ska, and Funk, the goal of this diverse musician has always been to blend the edges of many different musical worlds and try to bring people together through music and dance! Mr. Zodiac - Producer & DJ

Mr. Zodiac (known as DJ Zodiac back in the day) started his journey at around 9 years old, making his first “mix tape” with a double cassette deck and a CD player. By 12, he was organizing parties in the basement, and by 15, he was already playing in actual venues. In the 90s, he mainly played Techno and Trance—and yes, you can still book DJ Zodiac for an epic 90’s Retro set!

Toward the end of that decade, he discovered the raw energy of Jungle and Drum & Bass. Since then, he's been hooked on breakbeats, bass-heavy, soulful, and funky tracks. Over the years, Mr. Zodiac has released music on labels such as Offworld Recordings, Conquest Recordings, Liquid Drops, Liquid Flavours, FunkStuff Rec, and Connessione Rec.
