Miss Alicia is a DJ, organizer, visual artist, and designer. Since getting her start in the nightlife community during the pandemic, Alicia has worked tirelessly to uphold an ethos of spreading joy to the community through her bombastic DJ sets, DIY parties, art installations, and graphic design work for musicians. Behind the decks she spins a blend of house, funk, global, and cheeky edits to create a room that dances with a smile on its face. In addition to producing independent events, Miss Alicia is a regular at New York institutions such as Good Room, House of Yes, Jupiter Disco and many more. 

Miss Alicia is resident at family friendly DIY party Sweet Kicks alongside Karlala and Rose Kourts, which runs on the hot pink battery powered Karlala Soundsystem. She is also half of Ūmboma, a collaboration with ambient artist and DJ Omar Ahmad. Ūmboma is a sonically global-forward project which blends Afro, Arab, and Latin contemporary rhythms in a communal narrative.

Dear musiclover, welcome to my "DJ Grey Ray" Soundcloud mixpage.

I've been a DJ for more than 40 years. And yes, I'm not 18 anymore.
Started small, with friends, played and toured in my own country, abroad and played in a club. 
Worked for radio stations as a presenter and music composer. 
Met and interviewed a lot of great artist in those years. 
For example: Johnny Guitar Watson, BB King, Billy Preston, Kool Moe Dee, SOS Band, Average White Band, Philip Bailey from Earth Wind and Fire and...
Mister James Brown! That's why you always can hear JB's voice samples somewhere in my mixes. Without The Godfather of soul, the track is not complete.
Also other samples, pop up in my mixes.

I love and like music that touches me in anyway. It definitely has to be rhythmic, have soul and a funky bassline. Music that makes you want to move. Music that makes you happy. 
Music is life, my life...

I come from the disco, soul, rap and funk era.
70's, 80's and 90's period.
I try to reflect that in my live "homemade" disco/house/nu-disco/funky dance mixes. A big thanks to all artists worldwide, other DJ's and (music)Producers who make the (re)mixes and recut's from original tracks.

I never know what I am going to do or make. 
No playlist, I just start somewhere. 
All is mixed live on my Pioneer Nexus set and recorded at the same time. 
My mixes are from the heart and made with energy and great pleasure.
So just enjoy and dance if you feel like it.

I always had a passion for dancing, and nothing gets me moving like housemusic does. As a producer i like to experiment and love the creative process of making music. My main inspiration is the older style of housemusic (90`s early 2000) when housemusic was heavily influenced by Funk, disco, jazz and so on.  Hope you enjoy some of my songs :)
