I'm happy to upload another cover using the Sega Genesis Soundchip. Dead Rising is a really nice video game series, and all the music it uses tends to be bangers. This one in particular stuck with me for some reason, and I couldn't help but to want to cover it.
I'm getting better at identifying instruments used in rock songs and how to process them into the genesis channels. Chords and what not were sometimes a hassle, but it feels like I'm getting the hang of telling what note of said chord goes where. I also learned that there's not one, but two 'DPCM' channels that I can use for both percussions and samples - very, very helpful feature, that is. It makes the drums more... 'bold.' Some of the biggest issues were the way the style and pitch of the vocals had to be covered, as well as the screaming portions. I did what I could, though, and I think it turned out alright!
Making music in this software is kind of fun! Will I do another cover or will I make an original piece? I have some ideas in mind, but I think I need more experience first... I guess we'll see! In the mean time, thanks for listening! I can't wait to put out more stuff!
