This is a track named "Evolution". This is the first recording from my own "Cynefin Studios". It's a raw cut, taken from a single 2 hour take, while recording in the early a.m. hours. This song represents change and evolution, both in my own world personally and musically, but also in the world of the Handpan. Change is inevitable. Communities grow, perhaps become more diluted in their own natural growth. With change comes new beginnings, new frontiers, new music, new mindsets. Sometimes when change sweeps through and new beginnings take hold, we forget the first beginnings. The history. Places where bonds and conflicts were birthed. Evolution seeks to engage in that change, but to our better ends, whilst not forgetting our roots, our ancestors, our beginnings. Chaos is the harbinger of change. But from it, peace can grow.

Mai3ya pronounced Mai-trey-uh is derived from the Sanskrit word Maitreya, Which means friend; and also means Buddha, at our best and at our worst there's a teacher within each one of us. 
Music seems to be the only language where we speak without words and the conversations are always interesting.

Gary Sugerman is a studio musician with a passion for guitars, synthesizers, digital music and playing the handpan. Gary writes and records original musical instrumental arrangements. All his recording work is done in his home studio.
