I first explore the concept of intelligence, contrasting human intelligence (HI) with #artificialintelligence and human #consciousness versus the binary (but soon, limitless) computing powers of machines. 
I discuss the impacts of AI on society, including potential benefits such as advancements in healthcare and sustainable / green technologies, as well as potentially existential risks related to misalignment, dehumanisation, abuse and over-reliance. 
As we face major global changes driven by what I call the 3 Revolutions (digital, sustainability, and purpose), I emphasize the need to balance technological progress with ethical considerations #digitalethics.
I advocate for using AI as a TOOL rather than a replacement for human capabilities, stressing the importance of collaboration and holistic policy-making to ensure a positive future for all.

Prof. Rajeev Sharma, a former faculty member at the Ravi J. Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation (1996–2017) at IIM Ahmedabad, has had an illustrious career in education and psychology.

He has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan and has extensively researched educational innovation, first-generation learners, and entrepreneurial opportunities in education. Prof. Sharma designed and taught the PGP course Enterprise and Innovation in Education and contributed to management development programs for educators. He has worked on projects for organizations like Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Department for International Development (DFID), and India's National Literacy Mission and authored the book Not by Grades Alone on innovative schools.

Prof. Michael D. Smith, Professor of Information Technology and Public Policy at Heinz College and Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, shares key insights from his transformative book, The Abundant University: Remaking Higher Education for a Digital World.

The Abundant University by Michael D. Smith explores how our current higher education system is financially and morally unsustainable due to its exclusivity and inefficiencies. Smith argues that embracing digital technologies in enrollment, instruction, and credentialing can create a more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable model. He challenges institutional resistance to digital learning and highlights how technology can expand educational opportunities, benefiting students, employers, and society.

Prof. Smith holds a PhD in Management Science and Information Technology from MIT’s Sloan School, along with an M.S. in Telecommunications Science and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (summa cum laude) from the University of Maryland. His research applies economic and statistical methods to analyze firm and consumer behavior in digital markets, with work published in top academic journals and featured in The Harvard Business Review and The Sloan Management Review and press outlets including The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Wired and Business Week. Professor Smith has received several awards for his teaching, research, and writing including the National Science Foundation’s prestigious CAREER Research Award, the 2009 and 2004 Best Teacher Awards in Carnegie Mellon’s Masters of Information Systems Management program, and the 2024 Frandson Award for Literature for The Abundant University.

Local and state governments, though often overshadowed by federal government, have tremendous impact on our quality of life.
