This is my interpretation of hypocrisy and evilness of people in this world. It’s also my most ambitious prog rock song I wrote.

The first electric guitar I ever played was my dad’s Strat. He kept it under his bed, and I would sneak it out after school before he got home from work and play it. I don’t know why I thought I needed to sneak it instead of just asking him to play it. I guess I just rather foolishly believed that my dad would be mad at me for playing it, rather than pleased and proud, which he was. 

After he discovered what I was doing with his guitar, my dad bought me my first electric guitar: an entry level Epiphone that was basically a Strat copy. My first “real” electric guitar was a MIM Telecaster Standard. My next electric guitar after that was a G&L Legacy. Since then I have acquired two Strats, another Tele, a G&L ASAT, and another G&L Legacy. All of these guitars were designed at least in part by Leo Fender.

While I now own many guitars with no connection to Leo Fender, his fingerprints are still all over my guitar history. This is a song that I played entirely on Leo Fender designed guitars as a tribute to one of the most influential people in music history, and inarguably the most influential person in guitar history who didn’t actually play guitar.

I recorded a short Am groove... and did some 'practise' riffing and generating ideas... while at the same time, practising fingering patterns and getting my picking speed steady... Some of it is 'scaly' position crap, but I also tried to build 'ideas'....

What happens when you teach a kid Suzuki violin, have him grow up in the home of a rock band, and then give him a guitar and get out of his way?

Throw in a love for Dave Brubeck and odd time signatures, some Phil Keaggy and open guitar tunings, a little Klayton and Trent Reznor, a touch of Adrian Belew, a dash of Danny Elfman and Alan Silvestri, and then stir in a heaping helping of big dumb guitar rock, and you’ve got a mishmash of influences that make up my sound. 

I like to make interesting music, and I get bored easily. I am equal parts composer and performer. I sing a little. I play a lot. And I really dig making absurd beats in weird time signatures that don’t make any sense until they do.

I am an amateur musician who loves Progressive Rock. I am always pushing my boundaries when it comes to writing and arranging my own music. I put a lot of emphasis on the lyrics I write as well as the overall arrangement.
I play electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards and piano.
