In our episode, we refer to Destructive relationships as the vital energy that is lost in men within our communities. Men sometimes become abusive to their loved ones and fail to connect with their children because they are repeating the cycle of physical and emotional abuse that they themselves endured as children. This often leads to negative effects of unresolved childhood trauma, particularly among young men and boys in high-conflict communities in Cape Town, South Africa.

It is important to highlight the deep-rooted hidden issues that men are facing in their lives and to discuss solutions to the ongoing violence in our communities and homes, which is often caused by men struggling to manage their intense emotions.

Growing up in a community plagued with social issues, but also full of promise and talent, Earl Mentor, a personal transformational coach, and author of the Cape Flats Karma book series, from Ocean View, has surmounted many obstacles. His calm, gentle demeanor belies his struggles.

In essence, he tells stories about the social evils that exist in high-risk communities on the Cape Flats and Township districts in Cape Town, South Africa, by means of life coaching seminars, workshops on peacebuilding, and poetry about the make and break of marginalised people on the Cape Flats. He co-founded MENTORING PEACEBUILDERS SOUTH AFRICA NPC and served as its managing director for the previous fourteen years, during which time the organisation's mission has been to unite many cultures and assist in the dismantling of racial and cultural barriers in Cape Town, South Africa.Growing up in a community rife with social issues but also abundant in promise and talent, Earl Mentor, a personal transformational coach and author of the Cape Flats Karma book series from Ocean View, has overcome numerous challenges.
