Liner notes: 
Jim (Somersault) first asked me to come on the podcast 7 or so years ago to which I politely declined, with a mutual understanding that it wasn’t a firm no, it was a ‘not now’. As at the time I was looking for more established producers and he was just starting his trajectory into where we find him now. At the time I was working A&R for a local record label to which my manager and I agreed he was definitely one to keep an eye on. Better late than never, I finally hit reply late last year and with the years since we had become good friends and peers pursuing very similar musical aesthetics. 

So where do we find him now? Absolutely killing it. Right up there with one of Australia’s best house music producers backed up by record label signings from some of the most sought after house music labels globally such as powerhouse PIV, META, Audio Jack’s Gruuv and others. Now dividing his time between London and Australia his musical output is always worth seeking out. 

I’m very happy & proud to have Jim on for the first podcast of season 2. So let’s dive in with Somersault.

Pulse of the Prairie 2025

Had a most excellent time out on the prairie lands playing upstart festival / renegade Pulse of the Prairie for my Colorado debut.  Several CO crews assembled to bring out a solid taste of the local sound system culture across multiple stages, and I had the pleasure of playing this short but sweet set starting during the last traces of sunset on Dux Audio's Paraflex rig which was sounding absolutely lovely.  Even better though was partying with a great crew of like-minded, up-for-it folks for a few days.  Massive thanks to the Dux crew for the fam-style hospitality, and shouts to all the new homies!  Hope you all enjoy this one - straight groovers with a nice variety of flavors sprinkled in ❤️

Jara is the musical project of Jone Larrañaga. Born in the Basque Country, she now lives in Madrid.
From a young age, she has been a clubber, festivaler, and music lover. During the pandemic, she began recording her “Confidence” sessions, and in 2022 she played at a club for the first time — Specka, a legendary spot in Madrid’s underground scene.

Although her journey is still short, she has already played at international festivals like Brunch Electronik and Dantz Point, and at major clubs such as The Bassement and LAB. She has shared the booth with top artists like The Blaze, Weval, Mariano Mellino, Deer Jade, Mike Gannu, Kamilo Sanclemente, Uner and LopezHouse. She has also performed in other Spanish cities like Donosti, Burgos, Murcia, and Granada.

Her music selection, mixing technique, and respect for high-quality music are what have brought her to this point. She is now continuing her training to take the next step into music production.

Her sound is a blend of melodic house and progressive house, with refined yet powerful nuances. Authentic and genuine music made to dance and feel ✨

Profound Sessions has been born out of the love of quality deeper tracks full of smooth grooves, slo-mo beats and deep bubbly bass.
Each week will feature a mix from either resident Craig Turner or a featured DJ guest. Could be a well known DJ, producer/remixer or a reletively unkown artist that deserves to be heard. One thing that will be guaranteed is the quality of both the tunes and the mix.
