RIP Johannes D. Täufer

I’ve struggled with my DJ-Name for quite some time. „Johannes D. Täufer“ was originally just a funny fake name I used to sign up for MySpace, back in 2004. Then I started hosting clubnights and it became my DJ-Name. It felt kinda right, a reference both to my catholic roots (John the baptist being the saint my parents named me after) as well as to my inner diva (using the spelling of Johannes B. Kerner, a famous german TV persona at the time). 

In Berlin 2023, nobody gets that anymore. Much more importantly, my gender journey has led me to a place where using a boyname so prominently just doesn’t feel right! so I’m killing Johannes D. Täufer off, which seems only fitting considering the saint is most famous for having his severed head presented on a silver platter. 

sooooo, since I also recently realised that genderfluid feels the most right as far as labels go, and keeping with the tradition of religious puns, I hereby rechristen my DJ-persona „fluid druid“. fluid druid is praying the god of tits and wine, plus of course the goddess of disco and boogie woogie. Imagine a mix of Getafix, Sailormoon and The Dude. 

To celebrate my rebirth and reintroduce myself as fluid fruid, I’m taking you on a cosmic disco odyssey through the seven galactic seas:  fasten your seabealts, you're in for a climactic ride.
