On Tuesday morning at Garbicz 2023, I had the honor of closing this magic weekend (unofficial stage) with this after-hours set. Co-organized with my partner in crime Soulfunk, we created an intimate space for the last dance. This mix is a reflection of those magical moments, blending juicy indie dance beats, groovy house rhythms, and melodic, sensual vibes.

What we need now - maybe more than ever - is love. Not the image of love that we often carry around in clichés, but love in its true essence, its inescapable core. We need love in a radical way that unfolds its strength precisely in its fragile vulnerability, is aware of its fallibility and is therefore committed to the process and growth. A love that places the WE and not the EGO at the center of its actions. In other words, a love that is aware of its social and political responsibility, is active and wants to shape and heal. 
Imagine a world immersed in this love, in which we use all our knowledge, our skills and our wisdom for the benefit of all and not to maximize profit. 
In this spirit and full of love, I now share this summer memory with you. It was a hot dream on an august night at the Garbicz Festival. But whoever comes to action after dreaming creates new realities. So my biggest thanks go to all those who have supported me in making this dream come true. 

Wherever you are and however you spend these next few days, be good to yourselves and to each other and don't forget the paradises we can create together when we unite instead of divide.

Niki Sadeki is a self-taught, high-spirited creative, emboldened by the ideas, minds and sounds scattered in her midst. At the core of it all, a desire to connect people – be it through rhythm, events, or materializing projects. Motshabi has roots in South Africa and Luko stems from Poland. These two vines have now intertwined in Germany and are a Berlin-based duo. This project was born at the Garbicz pre-party in 2024 and since then, continues to bloom. Their style encompasses a wide array spanning from deep house, afro house, minimal to progressive.

Ahead of her March release on Kiosk ID, Berlin DJ and producer Britta Arnold showcases her vivacious dancefloor hypnotics with a pre-release remix drop. Together with New York-based composer, producer, and performer Justin Marchacos, Britta reimagines ‘Kaktus Rodeo’—title track of her forthcoming fourtracker—as a deep and throbbing dancefloor totem with searing hints of acid.

Theatrical strings and hymnal choirs weave another worldly tapestry across a substructure of squelchy bass arpeggios, stripped-down drums, and a mangled, beautifully engineered bell theme. A deep and tooly groover showcasing Britta’s razor-sharp brand of trance-inducing, floor-focused Deep House forthcoming on catalog no. 36.

For Kiosk ID no. 36, one of the most storied Kater artists adds another chapter to her signature brand of stripped, acid-touched Deep House, and in spectacular fashion: Britta Arnold’s ‘Kaktus Rodeo’ is a sprawling, hypnotic six-tracker that includes three originals and three carefully curated reimaginations by Steve Challier, Sascha Cawa, and Brian Cid that infuses her floor-focused energy with mangled notes of shuddering darkness.

‘Kaktus Rodeo’ unfolds a staccato groover built around springy figures of blips and stabs and prickly percussion. Tongue-in-cheek, eerie, and inherently trance-inducing, Britta’s title track draws its power from an eclectic array of influences ranging from breathy hymnal voices to resonating fields of mangled bells, all artfully suffused into a stripped, infectious groove. 

Steve Challier’s edit spotlights the original's bubbling depths, transforming ‘Kaktus Rodeo’ into a dubby, circuit-bent House edition that casts a cloud of shuffling drums across deep fields of chords and rolling subs.

Cavernous and hypnotic, ‘Nüwa’ feat. Tatyana cycles through cascading figures of spaced-out blips and conga hits across a darkly hovering pad. Tatyana’s spoken-word mantra leads the listener through a maze of clanging impacts anchored by an electric arp and a dubby, slow-burning groove. 

Sascha Cawa’s version imbues ‘Nüwa’ with a powerfully cinematic sense of drama. Staggered bursts of laser- sharp synth hits and arcing swells set to a minimal, sub-heavy groove conjure a darkly oscillating cyclone of blown-out pads, clattering percussive effects, and glitchy vocal effects.

‘The Calling’ feat. Tatyana contrasts biting, acid-infused stabs with a cloud of glassy synth figures. Britta conjures an overcast flurry of clattering synths and samples atop a shuddering substructure, combining a jarring array of elements into an eerily hypnotic dancefloor seance. Artfully coaxing the original’s revolving darkness into an anthemic framework of heavyweight drums and spaced-out pads, 

Brian Cid’s version moves ‘The Calling’ closer to peak-time territory with an artfully groovy and approachable rendition.

Britta Arnold’s productions artfully merge beautiful, groove-driven soundscapes with jarring and prickly elements, tying it all up in an infectiously danceable and powerfully hypnotic structure.
