The Brazilian, 23, arrived at Roland Garros having never won a main draw match at a grand slam but prevailed against the world No 2 7-6, 6-7, 2-6 6-3 6-4. Seyboth Wild produced an astonishingly aggressive game to secure the shock result, which was also the first time he had ever played a fifth set.

In the last match of the day, veteran home favourite Gael Monfils produced a stunning comeback in a frenzied late-night atmosphere to defeat Sebastian Baez in five sets. The 36-year-old fought from 0-4 down in the deciding set and battled through cramps to pull off the extraordinary win.

Úgy tűnik, hogy az évekig várt, majd elkerülhetetlennek tűnő generációváltás megérkezett a férfi teniszbe, hiszen Rafael Nadal az első fordulóban kapott ki a későbbi döntős Alexander Zverevtől a Roland Garroson, Novak Djokovic pedig sérülés miatt lépett vissza a torna negyeddöntőjétől. A döntőben Carlos Alcaraz verte Zverevet, így már három különböző borításról van Grand Slam-győzelme. A tornáról Szabó Gáborral, az Eurosport kommentátorával beszélgetünk.
Pénteken kezdődik a labdarúgó Európa-bajnokság, amelyen sorozatban harmadszor vesz majd részt a magyar válogatott. Marco Rossi csapata immáron azon a szinten jár, hogy kisebb csalódás lenne, ha nem jutna be a válogatott a legjobb 16 közé.
