Fragments of East-Asian percussion and distant windchimes flicker through the static,
while a reversed electric piano melts the boundaries between memory and hallucination.
This piece captures the feeling of sitting alone in a warm night breeze,
tuning into a station that might not exist—
an ambient space where broken signals become fragile melodies.

An experiment where the output of a D&D adventure that was facilitated by an Al is passed into a generative music model to create a musical interpretation of the story.

Credits: It’s impossible to credit everyone involved — maybe Fairport Convention, Ian Anderson, and the countless musicians whose craft has woven the rich tapestry of music we enjoy today.

Verse 1
Down the fish-reek docks where the gulls all gossip,
Dhansak strode with a nose of iron—
Following clues from a mentor’s parchment,
Underlined twice like a doom-bell chiming.

Verse 2
There in the Hob sat Vesper steady,
Wedgly shining like a walking chapel,
Sneaky weaving shadows, planning
Knots and mayhem in equal measure.

Chorus
Ohhh— raise your tankards, mind your ankles!
Crabs go snapping when the magic curdles.
Octopus waiters serve panic for supper,
And heroes dance in a wonky rhythm—
Five steps forward, three steps sideways,
Saving sailors turned to seafood.

Verse 3
Kaz the goblin chef was shouting,
“Help! My dinner’s staging mutiny!”
Seven sailors, crabbed and tentacled,
Skittered wildly through the tables.

Verse 4
Wedgly smote with holy thunder,
Vesper flared with moonlit fury,
Sneaky’s arrows flew like rumours,
Dhansak muttered spells like angry poetry.

Chorus
Ohhh— stir the pot and bless the skillet!
Foes slip sideways on the wizard’s grease trap,
Hag screams rising in a crooked cadence,
Heroes charging in a tilted metre—
Seven beats of salted glory,
One dead hag and fried ambition.

Bridge (loose, drifting metre)
Smoke rolls up,
Sahuagin falling—
Ropes are burning,
Flames are calling.
Sea Hag slips—
What a tragic tumble.
Grease is justice
In improbable time.

Verse 5
Trina wept with heavy sorrow,
Gold in hand and guilt behind her.
Wedgly chose the road of mercy,
Hard as steel yet soft as morning.

Final Chorus
Ohhh— drink to Kaz and the Sandpiper’s crew!
To friends uncrabbed and octopus-free,
To justice served with herbs and laughter,
And heroes walking in odd-time legend—
Five-and-three and seven-forever,
