Daily Bible Verse:              John 7:38

‘Whoever believes in Me, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’

- The source of life you need comes from your confidence and trust in God.
- Opening your heart and life to Him brings life, hope and strength.
- His ‘living water’ can transform every aspect of your life.
- So believe, have faith and confidence in the Lord your God.

Prayer: Lord, I believe in You, my Lord and my God. May Your rivers of living water flow through my life, bringing new life, new hope and new strength as I face the future. Amen.

Evangelist Dwight Moody famously said “the world does not understand theology or dogma, but it understands love and sympathy.” Jesus made this point very clear when he told his disciples “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” The Bible tells us that God’s love for us is unconditional and He longingly desires for us to love Him back. But like our earthly love relationships, there are conditions to meet to stay in a relationship. - The Lord sees you in every situation you may face in life.
- He sees you when you are strong and successful.
- He sees you when you feel weak, frail and discouraged.
- He is with you in every struggle and He meets you where you are.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You are aware of everything I go through and everything I am facing. Thank You that I am never alone or forgotten because You see me, even when others have no knowledge of what I am facing! Amen.

- The Lord knows you by name and He cares for you.

Prayer: Lord, how great it is to know that You know me and You know my name. Thank You for Your great love and care for me. Because I am loved and chosen by You, I can be confident and filled with hope. Amen.

Today’s lesson will focus on the God who blends love, righteous anger, and judgement. Any wise parent knows that being a parent is not all hugs and kisses. Faithful nurture at times also demands rebuke, discipline, judgement, and consequences. Was God uncharacteristically harsh in the Old Testament, but loving in the New Testament? Not if God is the same yesterday, today and forever. We hope that the thoughts uncovered in today’s study will be a blessing to you.

- When you face distress, remind yourself where your strength comes from.
- Don’t look to perfect conditions or ideal circumstances for your strength.
- Look to the Lord for your strength regardless of the challenge.
- You will find strength and courage when you turn to God.

Prayer: Lord, as David found his strength in You during a season of challenge and difficulty, I choose to find my strength in You. In my times of need I will lean on You. Your faithfulness will sustain and guide me and You will strengthen me. Amen.
