JJ Spaun vandt US Open efter hvad der kun kan beskrives som en kaotisk afslutning. Han holede et putt på 19,6 meter for sejren og sluttede som eneste mand under par. Førerbolden gik 17 over par, regnen gjorde det ikke lettere, men Spaun gik bag-ni i tre under og vandt med to slag til Robert Macintyre.
