Otra forma de administrar las carpetas de Google Drive es hacer clic en el botón Joven en la esquina superior izquierda de la interfaz de Google Drive y seleccione el carpeta opción en la parte superior de la lista.
Se nota que Android 5.0 (Lollipop) está a la vuelta de la esquina, Google no para de rediseñar sus aplicaciones a la nueva interfaz a Material Design, sobretodo en el día de hoy, ya que son varias las aplicaciones como Google Drive y su suite ofimática.
Todo lo del Mac (documentos, imágenes, música, apps, etc.) se organiza en carpetas. Cuando se crean documentos, se instalan apps o se hace cualquier otro trabajo, se pueden crear nuevas carpetas para mantenerse organizado.
Por lo anterior, Google ha estado actualizando estas aplicaciones de forma regular, añadiendo nuevas características y realizando algunos ajustes para mejorarlas. Así, esta semana ha lanzado una actualización destinada a perfeccionar aún más la experiencia de uso, gracias a sutiles ajustes en la forma en que funcionan algunas de sus opciones y haciendo que la interfaz de usuario sea más amigable.
El 24 de abril de 2012, Google Docs cambió su denominación por Google Drive, cambiando su dirección de enlace de docs.google.com por drive.google.com entre otras cualidades. Cada usuario cuenta con 15 GB de memoria gratuitos para almacenar sus archivos (un aumento importante para los 1 GB previos de Google Docs), ampliables mediante pago. Está disponible para computadoras y portátiles Mac, Android, iPhone y iPad.
La nueva vista de las diferentes carpetas de la nube, como hemos dicho, mostrará por defecto una serie de miniaturas en la ventana principal en lugar de mostrar únicamente los iconos de los archivos como hasta ahora y quedará se la siguiente manera.
Esta nueva interfaz únicamente se ha dejado ver por unos minutos (probablemente debido a un error) y en determinadas cuentas de usuario, sin embargo, es posible que en los próximos días esta nueva interfaz esté disponible para todos los usuarios de la nube de Google. El cliente de Google Drive para Android también ha sido actualizado hace varios días incluyendo interesantes mejoras en la interfaz que simplifican notablemente su uso.
Esta extensión funciona casi de la misma forma que el add-on para Dropbox: añade una nueva ubicación en las secciones "abrir" y "guardar" de la interfaz de Office, desde las cuales podemos acceder a los documentos de Google Drive con solo un par de clics.
Google actualiza la interfaz del Panel de actividad en los editores de Documentos de Google. Si bien las opciones y configuraciones disponibles no cambiarán, se espera que la nueva interfaz te permita hacer búsquedas con mayor facilidad y colaborar de forma más eficaz.
A continuación de estas opciones tenemos todo el listado de documentos, en el que además de poder ver el título seguiremos pudiendo marcar el documento como destacado, el tipo de configuración de compartido que tiene y la etiqueta de la colección a la que le hemos añadido. Si tienes almacenadas imágenes en [Google Docs](/tag/google-docs) una novedad muy interesante es el uso nuevo _slideshow_ que ha heredado de Google Wave, que permite visualizar la imagen de forma rápida y pasar de una a otra con tan solo un click de ratón.
En el resto no hay demasiados cambios, tan solo destacar el **cambio de nombre de las carpetas a colecciones**, según [Google](/tag/google) este cambio nos permite tener una mejor gestión de todos nuestros documentos y archivos, pero lo cierto es en la técnica no añade ninguna característica nueva sobre este elemento, tan solo se trata de un cambio de nombre, salvo que en el futuro vengan más novedades que justifiquen este cambio.
