This is an archive of the Clean Up Hour. Tonight is the 71st All Things Considered, in which we continue on with Peanuts & Corn Summer (and probably fall) by making the case for Gruf -- aka Gruf the Druid -- whose small discography is universe-expanding. Abstract yet grounded, emotive yet firm, Gruf's music has served as a prime example of the uniqueness of Winnipeg's hip hop scene, and so, I'm making the case for it tonight. Tonight is also the 23rd Mini All Things Considered, which makes the case for Nestor Wynrush's Roxbury & Wooden Legs, a small record that should be in your collection.

The Clean Up Hour, Mix 322 (June 13, 2025): All Things Considered 71 [Gruf]/Mini-ATC #23 [Nestor Wynrush]

This is an archive of The Clean Up Hour. Tonight is the 72nd All Things Considered, which makes the case for Bazooka Joe 204 -- formerly known as John Smith -- who I argue is part of the "ID" of Peanuts & Corn. With a more aggressive flow and harsher observational approach, his discography (alongside his work with Park-Like Setting) is a testament to the importance of working-class presence in Hip Hop, while also still presenting a unique character who forms an important part of Peanuts & Corn, as well as Canada's scene in general. 

I also did the 25th mini All Things Considered on Different Shades of Black, who dropped their only album on P&C two days before I turned 1 year old. I don't think they were going to take over the world, but their album is still a hidden gem for real heads, and P&C deserves credit for not letting it get buried in the archives.

This is an archive of The Clean Up Hour. Tonight (pretty much) wraps up the Summer of Peanuts & Corn by making the case for mcenroe, the founder of P&C who has been the engine of one of Canada's best, most-noteworthy DIY labels. With a rich discography of his own, I argue that when one considers his raps alongside his production for himself, and other artists, as well as the vision he has had for Winnipeg hip hop -- and the representation of the working class -- he really deserves his flowers.
